DETROIT -- The Titans (12-5-1, 5-2 Horizon League) will travel to Cleveland State Sunday to close out the 2011 regular season. Detroit currently sits in second place in the Horizon League and can secure the No. 2 seed in the conference playoffs with a win. The game will be shown live on the Horizon League Network at 1:00 p.m. and live stats will also be available to follow online.
Detroit is coming off its first defeat in five games. After four straight wins, the Titans fell 1-0 to Wright State on Wednesday. The loss marked the first of the year for the Titans at home after previously holding a perfect 6-0 record.
The last time the Titans played at Cleveland State was last year as the No. 6 seed in the Horizon League quarterfinal.
Kaitlyn Quarrell's second goal of the game in the 89th minute propelled Detroit to a 2-1 victory and a berth in the league semifinals for the first time since 2006.
This season, Quarrell is one of three Titans with six goals and is second on the team in points with 16 behind
Abby McCollum's 20. The Titan offense leads the Horizon League in scoring with 44 goals and is also second in the league with the fewest goals allowed with 13 on the season. Heading into the final games of the regular season this week, Detroit's 2.59 goals scored per game is the 12
th best out of 330 ranked Division I women's soccer programs and defensively, the team's .685 goals against average is 28th overall.
Detroit is 6-1-1 overall against the Vikings after winning both match-ups last season. The first contest came at Titan Field as

Cleveland State is 9-6-1 overall and 2-3-1 in conference play this year. The Vikings are coming off a 2-1 win over Youngstown State Thursday evening. Taylor Vidovic scored two goals with the second and eventual game-winner netted at 48:44. She leads the team in goals with six on the year and her 13 points also tops the squad. Cleveland State's other Horizon League win came in Indianapolis on Oct. 5 as they took down Butler by a 1-0 score.
Detroit will await the end of the remaining Horizon League regular season slate to be completed on Friday to determine its opponent in the Horizon League playoffs.
