Shareta Brown (Grand Blanc, MI/Grand Blanc) was named to the All-Tournament Team as the rookie led Detroit with 18 points, but it was not enough as the Titans fell to the University of Texas at San Antonio, 59-55, in the final game of the UTSA Thanksgiving Classic.
Brown finished the two-day event with 32 points to lead all scorers. She also added four rebounds and a team-high three assists on the day, ending the weekend averaging 5.0 rebounds per game.

The defense did its part holding UTSA (2-4) to just 29% from the field and 25% from three, while forcing 17 turnovers.
It was another spirited second-half comeback for Detroit (0-6) as it saw UTSA extend its' lead to as many as 11 in the second stanza before racing back and almost tying the game up.
The Roadrunners led 46-35 with 10:13 left when the Titans began to chip away, getting within six at the 8:23 mark. UTSA rebounded to push its advantage back up to nine, 51-42, with 7:27 remaining, but the Titans answered with a 10-3 spurt over the next five minutes to get within two points.
Allen started the charge with an open jumper and a minute later, Brown was double teamed but found junior
Yar Shayok (Ottawa, ON/Hillcrest) cutting to the basket, finishing the play with a layup. After two Roadrunner free throws, Putnam nailed a jumper and that was followed by Allen's layup, set up by a great defensive rebound by Shearer who started a fast break and found the streaking upperclassman.
After another free throw from UTSA, Brown powered her way inside for a basket and the Titans were down by just two, 54-52, with 2:15 to go. The Roadrunners pushed its lead back to four on their next possession, but Detroit was able to make it a one-possession game with 49 seconds left as Brown made 1-of-2 from the free throw line.
The Titan defense forced a UTSA miss on the other end and got the ball back with 30 seconds on the clock, but Detroit could not score the game-tying basket. The home team would connect on two more from the charity stripe to take a five-point lead, 58-53, with just 12 second on the clock and the Roadrunners eventually pulled out the win.
The game was a back and forth affair to start with as the contest was tied five times in the first 13 minutes. Detroit had a five-point lead on two occasions, the latest at 14-9, but UTSA jumped out in front, 16-14, with a 7-0. After Allen knotted the game at 16-all with 7:03 left in the half, the Roadrunners scored six straight to take the lead for good.
