Final Results
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Detroit men's golf team saw the wet weather leave the area as the Titans picked up where they left off yesterday and completed the final two rounds of play on Sunday at the adidas Hoosier Invitational.
The tournament was scheduled for 36 on Saturday and 18 on Sunday, but rain delayed round one and most teams were able only to get a few holes of the second round in. Detroit finished round two with its best team score of the event with a 298, while taking 15th place overall with a 912 (301-298-313).
Sophomore
Simon Reyers (Kingston, ON/Holy Cross) finished as the Titan team leader with a 220 (71-72-77), which tied him for 24th place. The second-year golfer shot an even par on the first 18 and just one-over in the second round, while knocking in nine birdies on the weekend.
Senior
Jeff Clarridge (Barrie, ON/Bear Creek) tied for 37th after posting a 223 (74-74-75), while junior
Mark Hicks (Niagara-On-The-Lake, ON/Niagara) was the third Titan in sharing 68th after shooting a 233 (76-76-81). Clarridge would also end up topping the field in par 5 scoring playing to a four-under 4.33 average.
Detroit will have a busy week ahead as the Titans visit South Bend on Tuesday for a friendly dual against Notre Dame in the Battle of the Warren, held at the Warren Golf Course. UDM will then host its Detroit Titans Invitational starting on Friday at the Prestwick Village Country Club in Highland.
