SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Senior Britt Pronk (London, ON/St. Thomas Aquinas) led a strong Titan effort on a windy day as the Detroit men's golf team took third at the Battle at the Warren, hosted by Notre Dame at the Warren Golf Club.

“We had to work hard to control the ball in the wind, but coming off last week at IU, we looked a lot better,” said head coach Mark Engel.

The Titans totaled a 297 finishing ahead of Bradley (300) and Jackson State (302), while Oakland was second (292). The host Fighting Irish won the 18-hole event with a 281.

Pronk carded a one-over 72 for the Titan top score. Junior Mark Hicks (Niagara-On-The-Lake, ON/Niagara) shot a three-over 74, while senior Jeff Clarridge (Barrie, ON/Bear Creek) tallied a 75. Sophomore Simon Reyers (Kingston, ON/Holy Cross) was the fourth Titan in the scoring line-up with a 76.

Detroit will now return home to host the Titan Invitational, beginning on Friday, Apr. 15, at the Prestwick Village Country Club in Highland. The first day of action will feature 36 holes, with the final 18 set for Saturday.
