Mark Hicks (Niagara-On-The-Lake, ON/Niagara) earned All-Tournament honors and the Detroit men's golf team claimed a share of fifth as the Horizon League Championship came to an end on Sunday from the Mission Inn Resort.
The Titans posted a 324 on the final 18 to finish with a three-day total of 943 (314-305-324), tying Loyola for the fifth spot. Cleveland State won the event with a 925, while Wright State was second (932), Youngstown State third (936) and Green Bay (940) took fourth.
Hicks claimed seventh earning the first HL All-Tournament honor of his career after recovering from a rocky start to par eight of his last nine holes to post a three day total of 231 (78-72-81). He also led the field in par 3 scoring with an even-par 3.00 average.
Senior
Jeff Clarridge (Barrie, ON/Bear Creek) was named All-Horizon League for the first time in his career following the event. Clarridge put in a strong performance on the back nine with birdies on two of his last seven holes carding the Titans best round of the day with a four-over 76, finishing tied for 13th with a 235 (79-80-76).
Sophomore
Simon Reyers (Kingston, ON/Holy Cross) shot a 54-hole total of 237 (78-73-86) to share 19th place, while senior
Britt Pronk (London, ON/St. Thomas Aquinas) tied for 23rd with a 240 (79-80-81).
