Women’s Lacrosse Returns to Titan Field

Live Stats

After back-to-back weekends of conference road games, the women's lacrosse team will return to the Motor City to face the Jacksonville Dolphins on Friday and the Presbyterian Blue Hose on Sunday.

Friday's contest against the Dolphins will begin at 2:00 p.m. Detroit (1-8, 0-4 NLC) is still trying to capture their first National Lacrosse Conference win after starting the NLC season with four straight road games.

Emily Boissonneault (Brooklin, ON, Donald A. Wilson Secondary) is having a standout junior season for the Titans. Boissonneault is leading the team in goals (27), points (28), and caused turnovers (17). She proves to be a complete player each week as she is also tied for the team-high with 20 ground balls, and near the top in draw controls with 16.

Boissonneault is averaging three goals a game which places her in a four-way tie for 22nd in the nation. She is also ranked 15th in caused turnovers averaging just under two per contest.

Anna Eidem (Champlin, MN, Totino-Grace) and Corina Mahorn (Whitby, ON, Anderson CVI) have impacted the offense this season. Eidem is second on the team with 15 goals. Mahorn is close behind with 12.

Marybeth Flanagan (Lansing, MI, Waverly) is still nationally ranked in two categories. Her 91 saves through just nine games places her at 20th overall. Flanagan's average of 10 saves per game puts her at 12th in that category.

About Jacksonville...
Jacksonville (9-4, 4-0 NLC) is the only undefeated team left in conference play. Although they have 10 players with at least 10 goals on the season, the main threat on the offensive side of the ball is Morgan Derner.

Derner leads the team in all major categories. She has 35 goals and 10 assists on the year totaling 45 points. Her 35 goals put her in a tie for 15th in the nation in that category. The Jacksonville defense is also sound with overall solid play from goalkeeper Karli Tobin. Tobin has 85 saves through 13 games.

The Dolphins are ranked as a team in multiple categories. They are eighth in points (247) with 187 goals and 60 assists, and they also find themselves in the top ten in scoring offense. Jacksonville does more than just score goals as they are also ranked in caused turnovers (22nd), draw controls (17th), and ground balls (5th).

About Presbyterian…
Presbyterian (4-9, 2-2 NLC) picked up conference wins over Liberty (13-12) and Howard (19-9) earlier this season. Offensively they are led by sophomore Shannon Hartford. Hartford has 22 goals to go along with nine assists giving her a team-high 31 points on the year.

The Blue Hose use many different lineups as no single player has started in all 13 games. Jaime Beamish is a good example of a player that can do a little bit of everything. She has nine goals, five assists, 27 ground balls, 12 caused turnovers and 18 draw controls.

Susan England is the goalkeeper for the Blue Hose. England is second in the nation with 143 saves this season. She averages 11 per game placing her at 10th in that category.

The game against Presbyterian will begin at 11:00 a.m.  A free pancake breakfast will be served to those in attendance.  This contest will also feature a best seat in the house promotion, so come out and support the Titans.
