While numbers are great, results Horizon League play will dictate where Detroit will be among the upper echelon of teams in the conference. With nine games remaining in the regular season, eight against Horizon League opponents, Detroit finished as the No. 6 seed last year and will look to at least equal if not better that mark.
The Bulldogs are 5-4 overall having won games over similar Detroit opponents Madonna (W 4-0) and Eastern Michigan (W 2-1). Butler has fallen at IPFW by a 3-2 score, at Indiana 6-1, and also dropped a home match to a ranked Oregon State team 2-1. The other two defeats came as part of the University of Kentucky Tournament coming out on the losing end of 1-0 match-ups with Southeast Missouri State and Louisville. The last time out saw Butler win a 3-2 double overtime match at Oakland Friday evening with the winner coming in the 105th minute from junior Claire Milam.
After Sunday, the Titans will host Oakland Thursday afternoon in the last non-conference match of the year.
