ON TAP
Detroit aims for its first three-game winning streak of the season as it heads to Milwaukee to battle the Horizon League co-leading Panthers.  The Titans are fresh off a road win at Green Bay and are eying their first Wisconsin road sweep since the 2004-05 season.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
Milwaukee sits atop the Horizon League table with a 5-1 record in conference play.  The Panthers, 12-6 overall, have won two straight and are 8-1 at home.  Senior guard Kaylon Williams leads the Panthers with 11.3 points per game.  James Haarsma is their top rebounder with a 6.6 rpg clip.  Williams was a HL Preseason First Teamer, joining Detroit trio Chase Simon, Ray McCallum and Eli Holman along with Cleveland State's Trevon Harmon.

THE SERIES WITH UWM
Milwaukee leads the all-time series 20-16 between the schools.  UWM took both contests last season, escaping Calihan Hall with an overtime win on Jan. 1 (84-81) then took a five-point win at U.S. Cellular (72-67) four weeks later. Ray McCallum averaged 18 points per contest in the two games.

WHAT'S NEXT?
Detroit returns home for a three-game homestand with Wright State on Saturday for Homecoming, followed by Loyola (Jan. 25) and UIC (Jan. 27).  The next road trip is the Indiana swing at Valpo (Feb. 2) and Butler (Feb. 4).

LAST TIME OUT
Seven straight Detroit points broke a 66-66 tie in the final 5:30 as the Titans closed out an 80-73 win at Green Bay Thursday night.  Four Titans were in double figures led by Ray McCallum's 16.  Detroit outrebounded the Phoenix by 10 and had 19 more free throw opportunities.

ALL IN THE FAMILY
Detroit head coach Ray McCallum will play uncle, dad, coach and opposing coach in Saturday's night's game at Milwaukee.  Panther junior Ja'Rob McCallum is the elder McCallum's nephew.   Ja'Rob has played in just six games this season after suffering an injury, but hopes to be back before the end of the year.

SCONNIE SWEEP?
With the win over Green Bay Thursday, Detroit is eying a rare road sweep of the HL's Wisconsin schools with a  win Saturday at Milwaukee.  The last time a Titan team pulled the trick was in the 2004-05 season when Detroit defeated Milwaukee 76-68 then went to Green Bay later in the year for a 68-56 win.

TEAM LEADERS
Both senior Chase Simon and sophomore Ray McCallum now lead the team in individual scoring and are tied for fourth in the Horizon League (heading into Friday).  The pair have each scored 283 points this season for a 14.9 ppg average.  Coincidentally, both players led the Titans in scoring last year with similar 13.5 ppg averages.

LOWE HIGH
Senior LaMarcus Lowe etched a new career high with his 13 points in the win at Green Bay Thursday.  The 6-foot-10 Lowe dropped in six quick points early on and was a total 7-of-8 from the free throw line to give him the baker's dozen.  Lowe has registered double figures three times this season, all Detroit wins.

POLAR OPPOSITES?
Milwaukee and Detroit are are on opposite ends of the spectrum in a few different statistical categories.   The Titans are the second-leading scoring team in the league while Milwaukee holds opponents to just 57.9 points on average, tops in the HL.  Detroit is the best free-throw shooting team (73.6%) while Milwaukee's 59.1 percent ranks last in the conference.

RE-DUNKULOUS
Junior Doug Anderson has been jamming the rim all season.  Anderson has 64 field goals this season, 36 of those coming via dunk.  After four dunks in four field goal makes Sunday vs. Butler, he jammed in the final seconds of the win at Green Bay, a high-flying slam over seven-footer Alec Brown to punctuate the Detroit victory. He has at least one slam in every game this season except two (at Akron, vs. Valpo).  He had a season-high five dunks against Alabama State (Dec. 22), part of ten Titan throwdowns in the win.

RIGHT TO THE POINT
The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. announced the 20 finalists for the 2012 Bob Cousy Collegiate Point Guard of the Year Award, including Detroit sophomore Ray McCallum. The annual honor, named for Hall of Famer and former Boston Celtic Bob Cousy, recognizes the top point guards in college basketball. An original list of 60-plus candidates was trimmed by a Hall of Fame appointed, nationally-based committee to the below list of 20 student-athletes.  The current listing of 20 finalists for the 2012 Bob Cousy Award will be narrowed down to 10 players in early February and then down to five players by early March. The final five players in contention for the award will be presented to Mr. Cousy and the Hall of Fame's selection committee.

REJECTION ROW
A pair of current Titans are in the top five all-time in career blocked shots: with Eli Holman sitting third with 146 swats and LaMarcus Lowe moving into fifth with 129 career blocks.  Holman needs nine to pass Brian Humes for second-most all-time while Lowe is two away from fourth-place Greg Grant.  The career leader is Terry Tyler, who threw aside a whopping 359 shots in his career from 1976-78.

Career Block Leaders at Detroit

  2. Brian Humes, 1984-87          154
