CLEVELAND -- The Titans will look to split their quick two-game road swing in Ohio as Detroit gets ready to battle the Vikings of Cleveland State on Saturday. Tip-off is slated for 2:00 p.m., at the Wolstein Center.

Detroit (9-11, 5-3 HL) came up on the short end of its first game in the Buckeye State as UDM fell to Youngstown State, 80-67. The Penguins shot 57% in the contest and tied a school record with 15 3-pointers. The Titans were led by freshman
Shareta Brown, who recorded her eighth double-double with 21 points and 12 boards. UDM shot over 40% in the game and 55.6% in the second half, while also outrebounding YSU, 37-24.
Cleveland State has dropped two in a row, including a 64-54 decision to Wright State at home on Thursday. The Vikings enter the game at 8-11, 3-5 in the Horizon League, but have won three in a row over UDM.
Detroit returns home next week as the Chicago schools come to town. Loyola is up first on Thursday in a 7:00 p.m., tip at Calihan Hall, while UIC will visit the Motor City on Saturday in a contest that is part of Girls & Women In Sport Day. DETROIT VS. CLEVELAND STATE
Detroit leads the overall series, 31-11, but Cleveland State has won three in a row and five of the last six meetings. For the most part, all the games have been tightly contested with an overtime loss by UDM ion the road two years ago and a 74-71 setback at home last season.
The Titans are also 12-8 on the road against the Vikings, but have dropped the last four games in the Wolstein Center. Detroit's last win on the road in the series was a 64-61 decision on Jan. 11, 2007.
ABOUT THE VIKINGS
Cleveland State was picked to finish second in the HL's preseason poll, but the Vikings have been hovering at the .500 mark for much of the season. They enter the game at 8-11, 3-5 in the Horizon League with setbacks in three of their last four games. On Thursday, CSU fell to Wright State, 64-54.
Cleveland State has a pair of players in double digits in scoring, including one of the top scorers in the conference. Junior Shalonda Winton leads the team and is sixth in the HL tallying 15.7 points per game as well as fourth in the league with 9.6 rebounds per night. Senior Destinee Blue is second on the team at 13.7 ppg., while senior Takima Keane is averaging 3.1 assists per contest.
GOOD NUMBERS VS. CSU
Junior
Yar Shayok has put together some impressive numbers in four career games against Cleveland State. She is averaging 12.2 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game. She has been in double digits in scoring in all four games and has posted a pair of double-doubles, including an 11-point, 15-rebound effort at the Wolstein Center last year.
Senior
Jalesa Jones has tallied 9.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists in six career games, with two double-digit scoring outings and an eight-assist game at home last season.
Junior
Demeisha Fambro had two games in double digits as a freshman and is averaging 7.5 points in four career games against the Vikings.

Shareta Brown is currently leading the Horizon League and is 12th in the nation in field-goal percentage (55.8%), while standing fifth in the HL in scoring (15.9) and eighth in rebounding (8.9).
JONES TOP 50 TOO

Shareta Brown among the top 50 in the country, so is senior
Jalesa Jones. The veteran point guard leads the Horizon League and is tied for 50th in the country with 4.8 assists per game. She is also tied for third in the conference with a 1.4 assist-to-turnover ratio.
As a team, Detroit is second in the HL in assists and 66th in the nation at 14.5 per game. The Titans are also second in the league and 57th in rebounding margin (4.8), and 65th in field-goal percentage (41.6%).
WHAT CAN YOU DO
Detroit came into its last game against Youngstown State second in the Horizon League in three-point field goal defense (29.5%) and holding opponents to 22-of-77 (28.5%) from behind the arc in its last four games. But that stat went out the window as the Penguins were 15-of-25 from three, with Kenya Middlebrooks leading the way with a school record eight 3-pointers.
The 15 3-pointers were the most by an opponent since Morehead State was 16-of-30 on Dec. 13, 2009
The Titans are now sixth in the HL in three-point field goal defense (31.6%).
FAMBRO'S SURGE
Junior
Demeisha Fambro has certainly provided a huge offensive spark off the bench in the last three games, averaging 13.0 ppg. She had 18 points in 29 minutes against Green Bay and came back to net 13 points in 26 minutes in the win over Wright State before eight at Youngstown State on Thursday.
In her previous six games, she scored just 23 total points.
In the last three games, Fambro is 13-of-30 (43.3%) from the field and 6-of-16 (37.5%) from three-point range, while also pulling down 5.0 rebounds.
Her seven rebounds versus Green Bay was a season high, while her four 3-pointers against the Phoenix was also a career-best.
The 18 points was her second-highest output of the season following the 21 she had at Ball State. It was also the most she has ever scored in a Horizon League contest.
ONE AWAY FROM NO. 2
Senior
Jalesa Jones is about to take the next step in her quest to break the school record for assists.
Jones now has 450 career assists recently passing head coach Autumn Rademacher for third place in Titan history. She is now just one away from Jocelyn Boyd's second-place mark of 451 and 36 shy of Mary Lillie's school record 486.
Jones has 95 assists on the year and leads the Horizon League and is tied for 50th in the country with 4.8 per game.
As a freshman, Jones had 84 assists, while collecting 159 as a sophomore and 112 last year.
For her career, she is tallying 4.0 apg.
