DETROIT (12/5/2012) -- The Detroit women's basketball team will look to win its third-straight game on Thursday as the Titans head to Muncie, Ind., to meet the Ball State Cardinals. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m., at Worthen Arena.
The game will be broadcast live through the Ball State athletic website with a free webcast available on the Mid-American Conference Website. There will also be live stats available for the contest. Titan fans can follow every UDM game this season through the women's basketball

Detroit comes into the game at 4-3 after defeating Ohio on the road on Sunday, 65-53. The win was the third on the year for the red, white and blue over the Mid-American Conference and those includes two road wins at Ohio and Eastern Michigan (61-54) as well as a convincing 97-57 triumph over Western Michigan.
Sophomore
Shareta Brown – second in the nation in scoring at 23.6 ppg., - tallied her third double-double of the year with 19 points and a game-high 15 rebounds, but it was senior
Demeisha Fambro who jump started the come from behind win over the Bobcats with nine-straight points in a Titan 22-3 run to take control of the game. It was the third time in the last four games that Fambro has reached at least 17 points.
Ball State is 2-6 on the season and has dropped its last three games, all by double digits. The Cardinals are 1-2 at home, but have been on the road since Nov. 19, which includes splitting a Thanksgiving Weekend trip to Florida with a win at Bethune Cookman (61-56) and a loss at Stetson (78-66). BSU is averaging 56.4 points per game and has three players in double figure scoring in Nathalie Fontaine (12.0 ppg.), Brandy Woody (10.9) and Katie Murphy (10.5). Murphy is also leading the team in rebounding at 7.5 per game, while Woody is averaging a team-best 3.1 assists per game.
Brady Sallee is in his first year at Ball State after an eight-year stint as head coach at Eastern Illinois.
Up next for Detroit will be Lourdes (Ohio) on Monday in a game that is part of a doubleheader with the men's basketball team. The women will tip-off at 5:00 p.m., with the men to square off against Alabama State at 7:30.

FINALS WEEK – the first 100 UDM students will receive some great study supplies and snacks, including note cards, pens, pencils, highlighters, Oreos, chips, Twizzlers and Powerade. Qdoba will also provide a pre-game meal to the students.
THE DETROIT-BALL STATE SERIES
Despite being less than five hours away, Detroit and Ball State have met just four times with the Titans owning a 3-1 mark over the Cardinals. UDM won, 87-68, last year on the road and picked up a 78-60 victory in Calihan Hall in 2010.
The Titans are 2-0 all-time in Worthern Arena with the first win a 90-65 drubbing back on March 2, 1987.
ONE TITAN LOVES BALL STATE
Senior
Demeisha Fambro has lit up the Cardinals in her career recording back-to-back 20-point games in each of the last two meetings.
As a sophomore, she netted a career-high 25 in just 22 minutes, while last season, she was 9-of-12 from the field with three 3-pointers ending with 21 points.
In two games against BSU, Fambro is averaging 23.0 ppg., on 65.3% shooting (17-of-26), including 5-of- from three and 7-of-9 at the free throw line.
OWNING THE MAC
After taking care of Ohio, 65-53, the Titans are now 3-0 on the year and 76-62 all-time against current teams from the Mid-American Conference, including 9-3 in their last 12 games.
Since head coach Autumn Rademacher took over the reins as the Titan leader in 2008, Detroit is 10-6 against the league.
SHARETA HONORED AGAIN
For the second time this season – and sixth of her career – Titan sophomore
Shareta Brown took home a weekly conference accolade as she was tabbed the Horizon League Player of the Week on Monday.
Brown led the Titans to a pair of double-digit victories last week in averaging 27.0 points, 13.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.5 blocks as Detroit blasted Western Michigan (97-57) and won at Ohio (65-53). She also shot 61.3% from the field hitting 19-of-31 shots.
She started the week with a huge performance against WMU tallying a career-high 35 points, while adding 11 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals in just 25 minutes of action. She was unstoppable on the court connecting on 12-of-18 field goals and 11-of-14 from the free throw line.
Brown followed that with another double-double as she posted 19 points and tied her season high with 15 rebounds at Ohio. When she wasn't scoring, she helped the team in a number of different ways setting season highs with six assists and three blocks.
OFFENSE WINS GAMES, DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS
Not to be lost in the recent offensive games Detroit has posted has been the play of the Titan defense.
UDM has held an opponent to under 60 points in five of its seven games, with the only two teams to score more a pair of Big Ten programs in Michigan (70) and Penn State (80).
The Titans have also forced opponents to shoot under 40% five times, including a dominant defensive effort against WMU. Detroit held the Broncos to just 27.5% shooting as WMU was 19-of-69 from the field and 3-of-14 from behind the arc.
The Titans also forced a season-high 19 turnovers - 15 in the first half - and held a 22-8 advantage in points off turnovers.
#WHAT CAN BROWN DO 4 YOU
Sophomore
Shareta Brown's offensive game has her among the nation's leaders as she is currently second in the country in scoring at 23.6 points per game.
She tops the Horizon League and the Midwest Region and trails only Florida A&M's Jasmine Grice (24.0) in that department.
Brown already has a pair of 30-point games on the year with 34 at Eastern Michigan and a career-high 35 points against Western Michigan. Those two performances are top 14 in the country with her 35 against WMU tied for 11th and her 34 at EMU tied for 14th.
The 35 points were the most by a Titan since Molly Peterman had 35 against UIC in 2002.
In her career, Brown is averaging 18.9 ppg., and has already scored 776 points in just 41 games.
FAMBRO STEPPING UP
Senior
Demeisha Fambro has been a huge part of the offense in the last four games, coming away with double-digit scoring efforts three times.
She started with 17 off the bench against #6/7 Penn State and then posted a season-high 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting, while tying her career-best with nine rebounds against WMU.
In Sunday's win at Ohio, she had a personal 9-0 run that got Detroit back in front and sparked a 22-3 spurt. She ended that game with 17 points as well as seven boards.
On the year, Fambro is averaging 10.7 ppg. - good for third on the team - including 13.5 ppg., in the last four games.
TITAN AMONG NATIONS LEADERS
The NCAA released its weekly statistical updates on Monday and Detroit sophomore
Shareta Brown is among the leaders ranking second in the nation in scoring at 23.6 points per game. She is also 37th in the country and 10th in the Midwest Region in field-goal percentage (56.3%), and 40th in the nation – ninth in the region – with 10.3 rebounds per game.
As a team, UDM is 29th in the country in field-goal percentage (44.9%), 32nd in rebounding margin (8.9), 78th in turnovers (16.0) and 82nd in assist-to-turnover ratio.
Detroit is also one of the best teams in the country in staying out of foul trouble ranking 18th committing just 13.0 fouls per game.
DOMINATING THE BOARDS ALREADY
Detroit has outrebounded its opponents in all seven games and currently owns a + 8.9 rebounding margin, good for first in the Horizon League and 32nd in the nation.
UDM dominated the boards against #6/7 Penn State with a 46-31 advantage. UDM also completely owned the boards versus Canisius (44-28), WMU (49-36) and at Ohio (48-37).
Last season, Detroit won the battle of the boards in 23 of its 34 games, including 11 times by a double-digit margin.
SHAYOK NEARING 1000
Senior
Yar Shayok is now 42 points away from becoming the 17th player in school history to reach 1,000-career points. Shayok is currently 18th in school history with 958 points and is looking to pass former teammate Sandi Brown (983) on her way to reaching the 1,000-point barrier.
The fifth-year senior – who redshirted after playing just two games as a freshman due to a foot injury – is averaging 7.6 points this season and 9.1 points per game in her career.
She tallied 7.2 ppg, last season and had her best year to date as a redshirt freshman recording 11.8 ppg.
REYNOLDS ON THE MARK
Freshman
Rosanna Reynolds has taken over the point guard duties for Detroit and leads the team with 25 assists through the first seven games, with her 3.6 apg., ranking seventh in the Horizon League.
She is also fourth in the HL with a 1.3 assist-to-turnover ratio.
Reynolds has four, four-assist efforts already and posted her season high of six against #6/7 Penn State.
In terms of scoring, Reynolds netted a season-high 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting against Canisius and added 14 at Ohio, 11 against South Alabama and 10 versus the Lady Lions.
Her 8.9 ppg., is fourth on the squad.
A PAIR OF TITANS IN THE 100'S
Senior
Yar Shayok played in her 105th career game at Ohio and is just 22 shy of tying the school record held by former teammate
Jalesa Jones (127-2008-12).
Meanwhile, senior
Demeisha Fambro played in her 100th career game wearing the red, white and blue at Ohio.
HITTING THE FREE ONES
The Titans were just 52.4% from the free throw line in the first three games, but have turned it around since then hitting 55 of their last 75 attempts (73.3%) in the last three contests.
UDM was very effective from the charity stripe going 18-of-22 (81.8%) against Penn State, while making 20-of-24 versus WMU.
