DETROIT, Mich.-- The Titans erased another second-half deficit-- this time a 12-point Green Bay lead-- in earning a 77-74 win at Calihan Hall Sunday afternoon in Horizon League play.  Two days after Detroit made a seven-point lead in the final two minutes evaporate to defeat Milwaukee, UDM turned the trick again with help from senior Chase Simon's game-high 24 points.

Although the result was the same, the recipe was a bit different.  In Friday's wild come-from-behind win, the Titans used defense and key turnovers to grab a one-point win over the Panthers.  On Sunday, Detroit had to shrug off some sluggish shooting and did so by chalking-up 46 second-half points en route to victory.

Green Bay (10-14, 6-8 HL) found itself leading by a dozen just three minutes into the second half after scoring the first five points of the stanza.  UDM's first points did not come until Jason Calliste corralled a rebound and drilled a three in transition.  The Phoenix countered with solid three-point shooting with back-to-back threes as UWGB held firm to a 51-40 lead with 13:25 left.

From there, Detroit (15-12, 9-6) scored 17 of the next 21 points to erase the deficit completely.  The lead would change hands eight times over the next 4:17 until seven straight Detroit points from senior LaMarcus Lowe sparked a quick 11-3 run that gave the Titans the lead for good.

Green Bay did not go quietly, however, with Kam Cerroni nailing two threes in just 10 seconds to trim the advantage to three with :40 remaining.  Simon and sophomore Ray McCallum combined to make all six of their free throws in the final minute to keep the Phoenix at bay.

Simon had 18 of his 24 points in the second half and was 5-of-7 from the floor in the final frame.  It was his seventh 20-point game of the season, but his first since Dec. 8 (16 games).  It couldn't have come at a better time for the Titans, who shot just 35.7 percent from the floor in the opening period and were searching for a flow offensively.

Detroit's key to success on this night was to continue feeding the hot hand and Simon delivered with tough mid-range jumpers and three triples in the win.  McCallum had six assists with no turnovers to go along with 15 points and four steals.  Senior Eli Holman had nine points and eight rebounds and fellow big man Lowe had 13 points and a pair of blocks.

UWGB had five players in double figures led by freshman Keifer Sykes' 14.  Alec Brown added 13 as both-- normally starters-- came off-the-bench for the Phoenix.  Cerroni had 12 points while Brendan Cougill and Steve Baker each chipped-in 11.

The Titans-- winners of eight of their last 10 games-- take to the road Wednesday to battle Wright State.  Tip is slated for 7:00 p.m. from the Nutter Center on the Horizon League Network.
