DETROIT -- After just one home game, the Titan women's lacrosse team is heading back out on the road as UDM will travel to Niagara and Duquesne this weekend.
The Titans' game against the Purple Eagles will be on Friday night at 7:00p.m., while the red, white and blue's contest versus the Dukes is set for Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Both games will have live stats, with Sunday's affair also featuring a live webcast for a small fee.
Detroit is 1-5 on the season, but five of the six games have been away from Titan Field so far. After playing their first six games in a 15-day span, the Titans have been idle since last Sunday.
Senior
Emily Boissonneault currently leads the Titans with 16 goals and is tied for the team-high with 17 points. She has 204 goals in her career, second among active players in Division I. She also tops the team with eight caused turnovers, is second in draw controls (13) and tied for third in ground balls (10).
Senior
Anna Eidem has tallied 17 points and is second on the team in goals (12), while leading the squad in assists (5) and draw controls. She has posted 140 goals in her career. Senior
Corina Mahorn is third on the team with nine goals and 11 points and goes into this weekend just five goals away from the century mark.
Niagara is 1-4 on the year with its lone victory a 10-8 decision over Gannon. The Purple Eagles have had one common opponent with UDM on the season falling to St. Bonaventure at home, 15-11. Emily French leads the team with 10 goals and is tied for the team-high with Fran Pollastro with 11 points.
This will be the fourth career meeting between the two schools, with Niagara owning a 2-1 advantage. The Titans did beat the Purple Eagles last year in the Motor City, 13-10, and that was after a pair of one goal setbacks (9-8 in Detroit in 2009 and 10-9 in Niagara in 2010).
Duquesne is 6-3 on the season and riding a three-game winning streak with triumphs over Robert Morris (12-6), Niagara (19-5) and Saint Francis (PA) (18-5). The Dukes have a pair of 20-point goal scorers in Caitlin Prince (25) and Haley Marafioti (22), while their goalie Liz Walker has a 10.25 goals against average.
The Dukes lead the overall series 3-0, including last year's 16-9 win in Detroit.
After this weekend, the Titans will play four in a row and five of their last seven games at home.
