Kaitlynn Hedrick came off the bench to record a career mark, and senior
Alyssa Jarvis was all over the field as the University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse battled first-place Massachusetts to a 22-3 decision on Saturday afternoon.
The game was UDM's last home contest of the season.
Hedrick made 12 saves and picked up four ground balls in 45 minutes of action. Senior
Libby Cuckler scored two goals, while Jarvis tallied a goal, a career-tying three caused turnovers, three draw controls, and a career-high six ground balls.
Jarvis got the Titans on the board in the third period after winning a draw to gain possession. After freshman
Chloe Sheader fired a shot high, Jarvis was able to beat the keeper.Â
In the fourth, Cuckler took advantage of a UMass (13-2, 6-0 MAC) foul and fired one in on the free position. Later in the period, Cuckler scored on the women-up, taking a pass from freshman
Alison Smiley.

Ava Bandi ended with two caused turnovers and two ground balls, while redshirt
Lucy Annese and senior
Jane Peck had a caused turnover and a ground ball.Â
The Titans will be back in action next Saturday when the red, white and blue visit Robert Morris.

- This was the first career meeting between the two schools as UMass joined the league after a long stint in the Atlantic 10 Conference, where it won 14 straight A-10 titles
- Cuckler now has multi-goal games in four straight
- Cuckler now has 96 career points on 60 goals and 36 assists, tied for seventh in school history with the 36 helpers
- Jarvis now has back-to-back games with a career-high three caused turnovers
- Jarvis now has 185 draw controls, second in the record book, and 101 points on 80 goals and 21 assists in her career, 14th in goals and 17th in points in school history
- Hedrick had 23 saves in seven games coming into the contest, with her season-high six saves coming at Xavier
- Bandi now has three games with at least two takeaways, with her season high of three at Lindenwood
