DETROIT (4/12/2026) -- Senior
Libby Cuckler tied her career high with four goals, but it was not enough as the University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse team dropped its second consecutive 15-7 decision, this time to visiting Kent State on Sunday.
Prior to the game, UDM honored its four-member senior class in Cuckler,
Angelina Hook,
Alyssa Jarvis, and
Jane Peck.Â
Cucker also added an assist for a season-high five points and four draw controls. Jarvis posted a goal and two assists - reaching 100 career points - a career-tying three caused turnovers, two draws, and three ground balls, while Hook and graduate senior
Vanessa Evans had a takeaway and two GB's.
Redshirt freshman
Emily Coyne made a season-high 15 saves and picked up a season-best six ground balls, and Peck also scooped up a loose ball.
Kent State (7-7, 2-3 MAC) got on the board first, but immediately after, Cuckler won a draw, and Jarvis found freshman
Alison Smiley for the goal. KSU opened a 5-1 lead when freshman
Morgan Stamatakis fed Cucker for a strike late in the first.Â
Stamatakis found the back of the net early in the second off a pass from Jarvis, and Cuckler fired in a free-position marker, but the Golden Flashes led 11-4 at the break.Â
Coyne had a couple of saves early in the third, one on a free position attempt, and Cuckler set up Jarvis for her marker and 100th career point to make it an 11-5 affair. Coyne finished with six stops in the third and three more in the fourth for her career effort.Â
Cuckler finished up the Titan scoring with two goals in the fourth.Â
UDM was 19-of-21 on clears and was just edged in ground balls, 16-14.Â
Detroit Mercy will play its final home game of the season on Saturday, Apr. 18, as the red, white and blue welcome MAC newcomer UMass.Â
