Detroit has won two in a row and four of its last six and enters the game at 4-4, 1-0 in the MAAC. UDM is coming off a 17-12 victory at Canisius last week in its conference opener and prior to that, the Titans downed Quinnipiac, 13-10, on the road.

Sophomore Joel Matthews – the reigning MAAC Offensive Player of the Week – currently leads the team in points (35), goals (22) and assists (13). He is ninth in the nation with 4.38 points per game and 14th in goals tallying 2.75 per contest.

As a team, the Titans are in the top 20 in a number of categories including second in the nation in caused turnovers (11.38), 14th in saves per game (11.63), 16th in man-down defense (.723) and 18th in scoring offense (10.75).

Marist comes into the Motor City with a 3-2 record, 1-0 in the MAAC after defeating Jacksonville last week, 9-7. Jack Doherty tops the Red Foxes with 13 goals and is second with 16 points, while Connor Rice leads the team in scoring with 17 points on nine goals and eight assists. Craig Goodermote is the team's goalie and sports an 8.82 goals against average, while Matt Dugan is 59-of-110 in faceoffs on the year.

The Red Foxes lead the overall series, 2-1, but the Titans lone victory was in the MAAC semifinals last season, 9-8. Marist won the only previous match-up in Detroit, 13-6, in 2010 and also posted a 14-13 victory at home last season.

In last year's contest in Poughkeepsie, NY, Tom Masterson was the Titan high scorer coming away with a career-high five points on three goals and two assists, while Jordan Houtby had two goals in the semifinals triumph, including the game winner early in the fourth quarter.
