The Titans (5-5, 2-1 MAAC) – who had a three-game winning streak coming into the contest - broke a 2-all tie early in the third as senior
Tim Lehto (Farmington, MI/North Farmington) fed Adams for the marker. Manhattan (4-4, 1-1 MAAC) then jump out in front with four-straight goals to take a 6-3 lead late in the period.
Detroit fought back with sophomore
Scott Drummond (Birmingham, MI/Seaholm) finding the back of the net with 3:14 left in the third and sophomore
Tom Masterson (London, ON/St. Thomas Aquinas) netting his first goal of the season in the fourth to cut the deficit to one, 6-5, with 8:30 left.
UDM had a few attempts to tie it, but could not get the equalizer as the Jaspers came back with two straight for an 8-5 advantage with just three minutes left.

A.J. Levell (Columbus, OH/Dublin Scioto) made 13 saves in net and picked up a team-high nine ground balls.

Jordan Houtby (St. Catharines, ON/Holy Cross) had a game-high five caused turnovers and seven ground balls. Junior
John Dwyer (Novi, MI/Detroit Catholic Central) had three caused turnovers with two GB's, while junior
Jamie Hebden (Farmington Hills, MI/Brother Rice) tallied two caused TO's and four ground balls. Senior
Jason McDonald (Bayport, NY/Bayport-Blue Point) also corralled four ground balls for the Titan defense.
Offensively, senior
Scott Harris (Saline, MI/Saline) ended the contest with two assists, while sophomore
Troy Dennis (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) and
Alex Maini (Lynbrook, NY/Lynbrook) each had a helper. Freshman
Brandon Beauregard (Clarkston, MI/Notre Dame Prep) also added a goal.
Detroit outshot Manhattan, 42-33, and had 14 total caused turnovers on the day. UDM also played without leading scorer
Joel Matthews (St. Catharines, ON/Holy Cross).
The Titans will now look to regroup as Detroit will host first place Siena next Saturday at Titan Field. Game time is set for 11:00 a.m.
