DETROIT -- One day after posting 19 goals in a winning effort over Liberty, the Titan offense stayed hot as Detroit tied a school record in a 21-17 victory over Longwood on Sunday afternoon.

The 21 goals tied the school mark originally set in a 21-15 win over Presbyterian in 2009. It was also the fifth time in Detroit history that it has posted at least 20 goals in a game and the first since defeating Howard last season, 20-14.

The win moved Detroit to 3-7 on the year and 2-1 in the National Lacrosse Conference. It also ended a six-game slide to Longwood as the Lancers fell to 1-8, 1-1 in the NLC.

Senior Anna Eidem (Champlin, MN/Totino-Grace) capped off a great weekend netting a team-high six goals and recording seven points. She started the week by tying her career high with eight goals and totaling nine points against Liberty. The fourth-year Titan also tied for the game high with five draw controls and three caused turnovers.

Senior Emily Boissonneault (Brooklin, ON/Donald A. Wilson) poured in five goals and tallied a team-high five ground balls along with four draw controls and a game and school record six caused turnovers.

Freshman Tessa Keuler (Oregon City, OR/Oregon City) added her third hat trick of the year with three goals, while senior Corina Mahorn (Whitby, ON/Anderson CVI) and juniors Lindsey Saunders (Pasadena, MD/Northeast) and Zaynib Hamze (Dublin, CA/Dublin) each netted two apiece. Mahorn also picked up a pair of assists.

The Titans and Lancers traded leads early, but neither squad would hold more than a two-goal advantage in the first half.

UDM was down 10-8 with 6:45 left in the first when the red, white and blue went on a 4-0 run to take a lead that it would never relinquish the rest of the way. Boissonneault started the scoring with a goal at the 4:49 mark and just a little more than a minute later, Eidem knotted it at 10-all. Hamze gave the Titans the lead finding the back of the net with 2:33 left and then sophomore Tara Grady (San Jose, CA/Pioneer) scored her only goal on the afternoon and Detroit was in front 12-10.

Longwood would score a goal to cut that lead in half, but Boissonneault's strike with just 19 ticks left in the stanza gave the Titans a 13-11 edge at the half.

The Lancers started the second half with a goal, but the Titans then put the game away with five goals in a five-minute stretch to take an 18-12 advantage

Mahorn got the spurt going with a free position score. Keuler's second goal followed and then Eidem ran off three-straight markers – two on the free position – and UDM was up 18-12 with 21:50 left in the game.

After a Longwood goal, Keuler posted her hat trick marker with 14:37 left for a 19-13 lead. The Titans led by as many as eight, 21-13, as Saunders fired one in with 6:35 left and Mahorn tallied her second with 3:45 remaining.

Freshman Lexie McCormick (Peterborough, ON/St. Peters) started in goal and picked up the win, making four saves on the day.

The Titans outshot Longwood, 42-25, and were 7-of-11 in clears. The defense also forced 16 of the Lancers' 23 turnovers.

Detroit will have a week off before its next game as the Titans host NLC-rival Davidson on Eastern Sunday on Titan Field. Game time is set for Noon and will include an Easter Egg Hunt for all children in attendance.
