DETROIT -- After moving its conference record to 4-2 with a 20-15 victory over Presbyterian on Friday, it was a time to reflect on some of the achievements on the season as the women's lacrosse team held its annual banquet on Sunday. The event was held at Juliano's in Warren.
“We still have a lot more we want to do this year, but it was great to get everyone together and to look back at what we have accomplished this year,” said head coach
Laura Maness.
After dinner was served, the program began with Coach Maness and assistant coach Katie Rhodes bringing each class up and talking about the contributions of each player.
The senior class – the first four-year senior class in Titan history in
Emily Boissonneault,
Anna Eidem,
Corina Mahorn and
Alycsa Valentine – were awarded their special varsity letter and a speech followed from each member. All four thanked the coaching staff for the effort and energy put in this season as well as a big thank you to athletic trainer Victoria Vintevoghel.
After each class was recognized, the players had a special gift for the staff with flowers and a commemorative scrapbook with each player devoting a page to honoring that staff member.
The Titans are 5-8 on the season and sit in third place in the National Lacrosse Conference with a 4-2 mark. They can clinch third place in the conference with a win at Howard on Friday.
