HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. -- Three Titans were in the top 20 and two made All-Tournament as the Detroit men's golf team finished in fourth place as the Horizon League Championship came to an end on Sunday. The three-day, 54-hole event was held at the El Campeon Course at the Mission Inn Resort.

Detroit ended the championship with a 918 (303, 307, 308) just nine strokes out of first. Loyola won the championship with a 909, edging Green Bay by two shots. The Ramblers are the first team other than UDM or Cleveland State to win the league crown since Wright State did it in 2004. The Vikings were third with a 915 team score.

Both freshmen Lucas Kim (Toronto, ON/Silverthorn) and Michael Nedoszytko (Scarborough, ON/McNeil) made the Horizon League All-Tournament Team as they finished tied for sixth with a 227 total.

Nedoszytko – who led after round one and was tied for seventh entering today – played steady all day and actually moved back into first at one point after shooting an even-par on the back nine. He would end the front nine with a 4-over and a 76 to go with his even-par 72 in round one and a 79 yesterday.

Kim began the day with the lead, but struggled at the start. He turned that around on the front nine with a 1-over performance and finished the day with two birdies for an 80 following his first-round 74 and a 73 yesterday.

Sophomore Brendan Leonard (Cambridge, ON/St. Benedict) earned 19th with his 231 (78, 76, 77). He carded a 5-over 77 finishing with two more birdies and nine pars on the final 18.

Junior Simon Reyers (Kingston, ON/Holy Cross) posted the best Titan score in round three with a 3-over 75 to place 21st with a 233 (79, 79, 75). He managed the back nine with eight pars and had a birdie on his final hole of the day, the Par 4 ninth. Playing in his final collegiate tournament, senior Mark Hicks (Niagara-On-The-Lake, ON/Niagara) was 40th with a 244 as he also went out with a birdie on his final hole.

Chad Ebert from Green Bay was the medalist with a 222 (74, 76, 72). Joining the two Titan rookies on the All-Tournament Team by virtue of finishing in the top seven was Loyola's Alex Cusumano (224), Green Bay's Cam Fuller (224), Andrew Wegeng (224) of Butler, Jonathon Riemer (225) of Cleveland State, Nick Dennis (227) of the Ramblers, Wright State's Cody Fixari (227) and Nick Willenborg (227) of Loyola.
