Titan Staff Member Jordan Sames Awarded ICLA Convention Stipend

CLEVELAND – Detroit Director of Concessions & Merchandising Jordan Sames will be attending the International Collegiate Licensing Association's (ICLA) Annual Convention in late June thanks to the organization's grant program.

“It is a great opportunity for me to be able to attend the convention and all that it has to offer,” said Sames. “I would like to thank the ICLA for giving me this opportunity. It will be huge benefit to my career as well as to the University of Detroit Mercy as I will be able to learn more about the topics that are involved with collegiate licensing.”

The ICLA will hold its Annual Convention in Dallas, TX, from June 25-28.

Sames – who came to Detroit in August of 2010 as UDM's first-ever Director of Concessions & Merchandising - was one of 10 individuals chosen to receive the grant after an application process. The grant will help cover expenses associated with registration and travel to the convention.

"On behalf of ICLA, I would like to congratulate the 2012 Convention Stipend winners and thank all of the applicants who showed interest in the program," stated ICLA President Maggie Harris, director trademark licensing at Vanderbilt University. "Each year, ICLA receives a number of high-quality candidates for both the Convention and Winter Symposium Stipends.  We are glad that we can offer licensing professionals an opportunity to attend both of these key professional development opportunities by providing financial assistance and look forward to continuing to do so in the future."

The ICLA provides educational and networking opportunities, enhancement of acceptable operating standards and ethics, and establishment of the overall prestige and understanding of the profession of collegiate licensing.
