DETROIT (9/16/2013) -- The Detroit Titans are returning home as the University of Detroit Mercy women's soccer team will host Bowling Green State University on Tuesday afternoon at Titan Field at 3:00 p.m. Admission for Tuesday's contest is FREE.

Clawed by the Wolverines
The Titans played at No. 11 Michigan on Thursday evening in Ann Arbor and Detroit fell by a 2-0 score. The Wolverines are still a perfect 6-0 in 2013 and against the Titans, held a 27-2 shooting advantage, a 7-0 advantage on goal, and had seven corner kicks to zero for Detroit. Michigan finally broke through with its first tally in the 56th minute before adding a late goal at the 88:08 mark. UDM sophomore goalkeeper

Tough Non-Conference
With the contest against Michigan on Thursday, UDM has faced three top-20 opponents in its 2013 non-conference slate. Detroit first played at No. 18 California on Aug. 30 falling by a 2-1 score. UDM then played at No. 8 Notre Dame on Sept. 8 falling 4-0 and then lost a 2-0 decision at No. 11 Michigan on Thursday.
Homeward Bound
The Titans have been all around the USA in the first seven matches of the season which were all on the road. Detroit has played three games in Michigan (at Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, and Michigan), two in California (California and San Francisco), one in New York (at Canisius), and one in Indiana (at Notre Dame). With at 1-0 win over San Francisco and a 2-1 victory over Canisius, Detroit had both of its wins come back-to-back and in overtime. The 2012 campaign saw UDM establish a record of 7-2 at home tying the program record for most home wins in a single season (7-0 in 1995).

Alyssa Lotito on Sept. 1 at San Francisco for a golden goal at 99:21. Senior
Kaitlyn Quarrell was responsible for the other golden goal netting her second of the game at 107:04 at Canisius for Detroit's second straight overtime victory. The Titans played three overtime contests a year ago finishing with their only tie in a 1-1 match against Ball State in Hawaii.

The Falcons are 0-4 in the young season under first year head coach under first year head coach Lindsay Basalyga. BGSU began 2013 with a 2-1 road loss at Cleveland State before a 2-1 overtime loss at home to Butler. The Falcons went on the road to play at IUPUI and were shutout by a 1-0 score on Sept. 8. The most recent action for BGSU came on Sept. 13 in East Lansing with a 3-1 loss at Michigan State. The BGSU offense has three goals in four games scored by three different players while goalkeeper Lauren Cadel has played every minute in the net making 34 saves.
Looking Ahead
UDM will be part of a doubleheader on Sunday at Titan Field as the men's soccer team will play Canisius at 11:00 a.m. Immediately following the men's game, the women's team will match up with Stetson shortly after 1:00 p.m.
