LAST OUTING
Juwan Howard Jr. scored 15 points and Evan Bruinsma added 11 more while also grabbing 11 rebounds as Detroit (7-8) coasted past Bethune-Cookman in a 73-53 win on Monday night.

The Titans shot 50 percent from the field, enjoyed a 36-30 rebounding advantage and opened with a 16-3 run in building a lead that would never be challenged. Carlton Brundidge contributed 11 points, and Jarod Williams and Anton Wilson added 10 apiece in the win, which was Detroit's final non-conference game of the season.

Bethune-Cookman (2-14) narrowed the gap early in the second half with an 18-6 run but couldn't catch up. The Wildcats were held to just 28 percent shooting from the field, hitting 13 of 47 and only 7 of 27 from behind the arc.

ABOUT THE RAIDERS
Wright State (8-7) led by as much as 14 in the second half, but had to hold off a Bowling Green rally in the final minutes before defeating the Falcons 46-43 Sunday afternoon at WSU's Nutter Center.

Bowling Green had a chance to tie the game in the final minute, but a Matt Vest steal resulted in Miles Dixon hitting the first of two free throws with 9.2 seconds remaining.  Dixon missed the second, but a three-point attempt by Holmes from the left wing to force overtime went long as time expired.

The Raiders also missed all 13 of their three-point attempts, marking the first time that Wright State had not made a three in a game since going 0 for 8 on February 2, 2006 against Milwaukee.

Wright State opens Horizon League play on Thursday, January 2, as the Raiders host Oakland at the Nutter Center.  Tip-off is at 7:00 and can be seen live on the Horizon League Network.

SERIES WITH WRIGHT STATE
This will be the 47th meeting between Detroit and Wright State, with the Titans holding a slight lead in the all-time series 24-22. Both teams split in the regular season last year, with both teams winning on the road, before the Raiders topped Detroit 56-54 in the Horizon League Semifinals in Valparaiso, Ind.

TITANS IN LEAGUE OPENERS
Detroit will look to grab its second-straight Horizon League opening win at home and fourth overall under head coach Ray McCallum. The Titans beat Milwaukee last year 74-59 on Dick Vitale Court to open league play and are 3-1 in the last four at home.

Overall the Titans are 12-21 in League openers, including a 3-3 mark under coach McCallum.
