Carter Earns Spot On NABC Honors Court

Senior Ayden Carter was honored for his academic work by the NABC.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (7/15/2026) -- University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball senior Ayden Carter took home one of the top academic awards in college basketball as he was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court.

He was one of just 10 student-athletes from the Horizon League to earn the honor and the ninth Titan in school history.

Also receiving the award for his time at Wayne State was senior transfer Jordan Briggs.

Carter holds a near-perfect GPA and graduated in three years. In his first year as a Titan, he played in nine games before a knee injury ended his season and averaged 12.2 points and 4.3 rebounds, shooting 55.1% from the field.

Over 2,300 players earned spots on the NABC Honors Court, and over 400 programs received NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards for 2025-26. A full list of Honors Court recipients is available by clicking here, and the following programs earned Team Academic Excellence Awards:

To qualify for the NABC Honors Court, men's college basketball student-athletes must be at least a junior, senior, or graduate student and a varsity player with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
