2014 NSCAA Women's Soccer Division I Scholar All-North/Central Teams
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (12/17/2014) -- University of Detroit Mercy senior
Victoria Sollestre (West Bloomfield, Mich. / Marian) earned NSCAA Scholar All-Region honors on Tuesday (Dec. 16) after being named to the 2014 NSCAA Division I Scholar All-North/Central Third Team by the national soccer organization.
Sollestre, a team co-captain for the past two years, has a 3.47 GPA in biochemistry. She is also the Vice President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC).
Sollestre recently wrapped up a stellar playing career for the Titans. The defender played all four years in the red, white and blue and was a staple on the back line throughout her career. Sollestre started all 12 games in 2014 before missing the final seven matches of the season due to an injury. She scored her first collegiate goal in a 1-0 victory over Youngstown State and helped UDM to six shutouts and just 13 goals allowed in the 12 games that she played.
Overall, she played in 65 games, with 54 starts, on the Detroit back line, and in the last two years, she's been part of a defensive unit that has recorded 16 shutouts. She's been on the Horizon League Honor Roll each semester for the past two years and was also named to the UDM Athletic Director's Honor Roll in 2012 and 2013.
Sollestre was one of nine Horizon League players named to the NSCAA Scholar All-Region teams.
