DETROIT (5/14/14) - Stacey Bruwer has been named the new Assistant Director of Marketing and Promotions at the University of Detroit Mercy. Bruwer joins UDM after spending the last five years in the Marketing and Promotions office at Oakland University.
 
While with the Golden Grizzlies, Bruwer was responsible for handling promotions during both the men's and women's basketball games for the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons. She took part increasing group sales by 50 percent during the 2013-14 basketball season, while also helping to produce the largest single-game crowd of 4,665 fans in attendance at a men's basketball game. 
 
Bruwer was also responsible for coordinating group appearances, half-time acts and national anthem singers for Oakland basketball games.
 
She spent time working with the Detroit Lions as promotion intern during the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons.
 
Bruwer is originally from South Africa and moved to the United States in 1998. She went to high school at Woodhaven before attending Oakland University where she earned both her bachelor's (2012) and master's (2014) degrees in communication.
