UDM Athletics Announces Updated Style & Branding Guide

UDM Athletic Logos & Marks

DETROIT (8/15/2014) --
The University of Detroit Mercy is proud of its association with both the City of Detroit and the Titan moniker it uses as a mascot. Our goal as an athletic department is to stay consistent in the branding moving forward, while keeping in mind the strong tradition and heritage that Titan Athletics has built in the previous decades.

In building our brand, the University of Detroit Mercy Athletics Department is only using two logos entering the 2014-15 year. The primary logo is the "Titan Shield", bearing the Detroit Titans name spread over the shield and sword in the red, white, blue and gray colors.

The other primary logo is the red "D" with a blue and gray outline. The University of Detroit Mercy logo that is used for the entire university may also be used.

The primary colors used for the athletic logos are PMS 187 (red), PMS 288 (blue) and PMS cool gray 3. The official fonts for UDM Athletics are Adobe Eurostile and the Detroit TitansTM font. The consistent use of these colors and fonts will strengthen the appearance of the Titans' brand.

The colors also may be interchanged within the two logos, but may not be used with any of the previous logos that have been used in the past.

For media members and others, on first reference use the full name of the school -- the University of Detroit Mercy. For second reference, "Titans" may be used as well as "UDM" and "Detroit." All other uses of the University of Detroit Mercy name are UNACCEPTABLE,  including "Detroit Mercy," "U of D," or "University of Detroit."

Please contact UDM Athletic Communications at (313) 993-1745 with any questions on the style guide.
