POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (4/30/2015) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's lacrosse team saw its season come to an end as the third-seeded Titans dropped a 16-9 contest to second-seeded Quinnipiac on Thursday afternoon at Tenney Stadium in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Following the conclusion of the championships, senior
Shayne Adams and
Brandon Beauregard were named to the All-Tournament Team.
Detroit ends the year at 8-6 on the season, the most wins and the first-ever winning season in program history. The Titans also tied a school record with four conference wins on the year and led the MAAC with 16 selections on the All-Academic Team.
Seven different Titans scored on the day with Adams leading the way with three goals, his 22nd career hat trick. Beauregard and senior

Adams also picked up a team-high five ground balls. Sophomore
Jason Weber made 11 saves in net and senior
Chris Shevins posted a team-best two caused turnovers.
Detroit got on the board first as Birney netted a goal nearly two minutes into the game. After Quinnipiac (7-7) scored two straight, Detroit tied things up with 3:47 left in the period as Beauregard found the back of the net.
The Titans then saw the Bobcats go on a 7-0 run that ended with 1:50 left in the second as Anstead took a pass from Beauregard and fired one inbetween the pipes.
UDM scored two more goals in the third period as Adams was able to pick off a pass and then put one in, while Drummond added a man-up marker late in the frame.
Three more knocks came in the fourth as Harper scored a goal for the second-straight game. Hess then recorded his first collegiate goal with 9:05 left and Adams made it a multi-goal game at the 7:17 mark.
Detroit finished the game 20-of-22 in clears and with 35 ground balls.

Game Notes:Quinnipiac leads the all-time series, 6-1… Detroit is 0-6 all-time at Tenney Stadium… Adams ends his career as the Titans all-time scoring leader with 179 points and 147 goals, as well as sixth in school history with 32 assists… Drummond ends his career third in school history with 104 points and 64 goals and as well as fifth with 40 assists… Beauregard finishes his four-year career with 84 points – seventh in school history – 39 goals – eighth in the record books – and 45 assists – second in Titan annals… Birney tallied 89 points in his career for sixth, while his 63 goals are fourth... Shevins ends with 29 caused turnovers in his career, sixth in school history… Gifford was a candidate for the University's President's Award, given to the most outstanding student-athlete on the merit of athletics and academics… Adams notched a point in 60-straight games to end his career… Weber has made double-digit saves in 23 of his 25 career games and finished the year with 202 saves on the season, a Titan single-season school mark… Gifford earned his first career point on an assist in the fourth.
