2015: Played in all 14 games with four starts… Posted five caused turnovers and nine ground balls with one assist… Tallied a caused turnover and scooped up a season-high three ground balls in the season-opening victory over Ohio State… Had two ground balls at Michigan… Came away with a caused turnover at Air Force… Recorded a season-best two caused turnovers with one ground ball against Manhattan… Had a caused turnover and two ground balls in the MAAC Championship semifinals against Quinnipiac and also registered his first career point on an assist in the contest… Involved with the University of Detroit Mercy Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)…  Finished his career playing in 49 games and tallying 19 caused turnovers and 22 ground balls… A four-year member of the Detroit Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and earned the Academic Excellence Award at the Annual Academic & Athletic Awards Dinner, given to student-athletes who have recorded at least a 3.0 GPA for every semester that they have participated in college athletics… A member of the MAAC Academic Honor Roll... Also a three-time MAAC All-Academic Selection.

2014: Started all 14 games at defense for the Titans… Helped form a back end that was 19th in the nation in caused turnovers per game and 20th in man-down defense (.673)… Was second on the team with a career-high 13 caused turnovers and also picked up a career-best 11 ground balls… Issued just one penalty on the year… Started the season by recording a career-high four caused turnovers with one ground ball in the win over Mercer… Came back the next week with three caused turnovers and a pair of ground balls against Michigan… Had two caused turnovers and a ground ball versus Bellarmine… Picked up a career-best four GB’s with a caused turnover at Wagner… Tallied a pair of caused turnovers against Siena… A member of the Detroit Athletic Director’s Honor Roll, the MAAC Academic Honor Roll and the MAAC All-Academic Team. 

2013: Appeared in 13 games on the year… Posted his only caused turnover against Canisius and his only ground ball versus Quinnipiac… Earned a place on the MAAC’s All-Academic Team and Honor Roll and was a member of the Detroit Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.

2012: Limited to only eight games as a rookie due to injury…Made his collegiate debut at No. 19 Delaware…Came away with his only ground ball of the year at Canisius…A member of the UDM Athletic Director’s and the MAAC's Academic Honor Roll.

Prior To Detroit: A standout defenseman who earned four letters in football and lacrosse as well as a letter in basketball at Notre Dame Prep under head coach Ben Ingram…Gifford was twice selected All-State, including second team as a junior and first team as a senior…Also tabbed All-League, All-Catholic and All-County in his prep years…Helped the Fighting Irish to four-straight Catholic B Division titles, a regional championship in 2010 as well as a state runner-up appearance…He made 41 consecutive starts at defense and even added five goals and seven assists in his high school career…He played club lacrosse for the 1763 Chiefs helping the squad to a finals appearance at the Cherry Bomb tournament in 2009 and an 8-1 record at the Battle of the Hotbeds in Delaware in 2010…On the football field,, he also earned All-League and All-Catholic honors…In the classroom, he was a member of the National Honor Society.

Personal: Son of Linda and Daron Gifford…Has four siblings…From the same high school as current Titans Brandon Beauregard, Nick Garippa and Tim Robertson…His hobbies include exercising, reading, drawing and listening to music…Chose Detroit because of its academic reputation and a chance to represent the state of Michigan in lacrosse…An English major.
