DETROIT (8/16/2015) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's soccer team played in its final tune-up prior to the start of the 2015 regular season on Sunday afternoon, falling to visiting Michigan State University by a 4-0 score at Titan Field.
Senior co-captain
Jennifer Borawski (Northville, Mich. / Northville) led the Titans with three shots and two shots on goal -- all of them in the second half. Detroit held the advantage in shots in the second half, 4-3, over the Spartans. The Titans finished the match with six shots overall, two of them on goal.

Carley Rice (Richland, Mich. / Gull Lake), sophomore
Phylisha Drayton (Troy, Mich. / Troy) and freshman
Kelsey Mendez (Saginaw, Mich. / Heritage) each added a shot for the Titans.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Marina Manzo (Washington Twp., Mich. / Romeo) started the game in goal and made four saves in net. Freshman keeper
Claudia Eustaquio (Mississauga, Ont. / Philip Pocock Catholic) played the entire second half and turned away two shots for the Titans.
The Spartans scored three times in the first half and added a goal in the 68th minute to cap off the scoring. MSU had 13 shots in the game and three corner kicks.
Detroit opens the 2015 regular season Friday, Aug. 21 against Toledo for a 3 p.m. contest at Titan Field. The season and home opener will be broadcasted on ESPN3.com. It'll also be Jr. Titans Youth Day at Titan Field as kids receive free t-shirts, free posters and pictures with Tommy Titan. Admission for all women's soccer home games is free.
