The win was the third straight for the Titans as they improved to 12-11, 6-6 in the Horizon League, while the Penguins fell to 9-16, 4-8 in the conference.
Bass led Detroit with 20 points in just 20 minutes of action. Senior

YSU pulled within two, 91-89, with 36 seconds showing, but some free throws down the stretch from Bass and McFolley sealed the win. YSU did have one last half-court heave to win the game, but it sailed wide.
Both teams shot over 55.0 percent as Detroit was 35-of-65 (53.8%), including 8-of-17 from three, while YSU was at 55.6 percent (35-of-63) with 13 from distance.
The Titans had the lead at the half, 45-44, but fell behind in the second stanza as YSU came out with five-straight points. They would continue to lead until a basket by Brundidge and a trey by McFolley put the red, white and blue ahead, 58-56, at the 14:32 mark.
From there, the lead traded hands 14 times with 10 ties for the next 12 minutes as the biggest margin either team had was by three. Detroit took an 84-81 lead as Bass knocked one in from behind the arc, but the Penguins would fight back to even it at 87-87 with 1:46 on the clock.
It was all offense right from the start as both teams were shooting over 60.0 percent in the first five minutes of the contest and ended the first half above 50.0 percent.
Both teams kept scoring and neither could get a sizable lead. The game was tied at 24-all with 9:44 remaining in the first when the Titans went on a 7-0 spurt. Freshman
Aaron Foster-Smith started it with a basket and then Wilson had five-straight points for a 31-24 lead with 6:57 left.
UDM then led by five, 35-30, when the Penguins started a charge and went in front, 38-37. It was back-and-forth after that as the teams traded the lead with UDM taking a 45-44 advantage at the break.
The Titans will return to Detroit for their final two home games of the season as Detroit hosts Green Bay on Thursday at 7:00 p.m., and Milwaukee on Saturday.
