DETROIT (3/16/2016) -- Riding a two-game win streak, the University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse team will look for a third when they head to Radford for a Friday afternoon contest in Radford, Va. The game is set to start at 2 p.m. It's the first meeting between the two programs.
Detroit (2-4) is coming off two consecutive home victories. The Titans scored 36 goals last week in victories over VCU and Delaware State. Detroit's 22-1 triumph over Delaware State on Sunday was the biggest victory in team history and matched the fewest amount of goals allowed in a game.
Fourteen Titans Score in 22-1 Rout Over HornetsThe Titans heated things up offensively, tallying 16 first-half goals on its way to a 22-1 victory over visiting Delaware State on Sunday. Fourteen different Titans scored during the contest with three notching their first Division I markers.
The 21-goal margin is the most by a Titan team in school history. It's the 12th time in team history that Detroit has reached 20 or more goals in a single game. The 22 goals was just one off the school record of 23, which was set last season against Howard. The one goal allowed also matches the school record for the fewest goals given up in a single game.
Three Titans scored their first Division I goals as sophomore

Emma Leszczak all found the back of net in the first half. Sophomore
Brittany Fenney had a hat trick with three goals to lead seven Titans with multiple goals.
Michaela Schwartz had a team-best four points, totaling one goal and three assists.
Beam Scores Goal... Then Stars in GoalSophomore attack
Jordyn Beam became the first Titan women's lacrosse player to score a goal and also record a save in the same game in Detroit's 22-1 win over Delaware State. Beam tallied a goal in the first half and played the final 24 minutes in goal, making four saves while not allowing a goal. It was her first career appearance in net.
Beam has recorded two goals in 2016 after totaling 21 points on 14 goals and seven assists as a freshman in 2015. Beam tied a single-game freshman record last season, tallying eight points in one game (five goals, three assists) against Howard.

Scouting RadfordThe Highlanders are 1-4 in their inaugural season, with their lone victory coming over Howard by a 19-8 margin. Radford fell at Delaware State, 18-14, and also dropped its most recent outing to Atlantic Sun foe Stetson, 16-12. Radford is 1-0 at home this season.
Emma Rogers (13 goals, three assists) and Gracie Peterson (11 goals, five assists) each lead the team with 16 points. Juliette Ruland (10 goals) is the third member on the team with 10-plus goals and has added three assists for 13 points. Adrian Ruis (23 draw controls) and Ruland (21 draw controls) have combined for 44 of the team's 67 draw controls. Ruland leads the team with 12 ground balls. In net, Hannah Rosen has started all five games and has 57 saves and a 41.0 save percentage for the Highlanders.

Kaitlyn Wandelt. Girardi has three hat tricks through six games and leads the Titans with 13 goals. Wandelt has four multiple-goal games and is second on the squad with 11 markers. Girardi (15 points) and Wandelt (14 points) have the top two point totals for Detroit. Freshman

Detroit freshmen have accounted for 36 of the 65 goals this season. Five of the six freshman field players have scored goals this season for the Titans, with

Allison McDonough has started all four games for the Titans, recording two-straight 11-save games against Oregon and Cincinnati. She is averaging 6.6 saves per game and has a save percentage of 34.2.
Birney Nears Century MarkSenior midfielder
Kylie Birney ranks third on the team with 10 goals this season and has 92 for her career, which is tied with former teammate
Tessa Keuler for sixth all-time in Titan history. She is three goals away from fifth place (Zaynib Hamze, 95 goals) and would become just the fourth Detroit women's lacrosse player to reach the century mark when she gets to 100 career markers. Emily Boissonneault holds the all-time record for goals with 242.

Kylie Birney and
Ally Shrader are the team captains for the 2016 season. Birney, the 2015 Atlantic Sun Scholar Athlete of the Year, is a three-time co-captain, while its the first season that Shrader has been named a co-captain. Birney is a three-year starter who is tied for sixth all-time in goals (92) in Detroit women's lacrosse history. She is a two-time First Team All-Atlantic Sun honoree at midfield.
Shrader has been a staple on the back line for Detroit for the past three years and has made 45 career starts in the red, white and blue. She leads the Titans in ground balls in 2016 with 16 in five games.
Six Games Set for ESPN3The Titans are set to broadcast six games on ESPN3 during the 2016 season. It's the first season of ESPN3 on Titan Field as Detroit will broadcast 10 games total between men's and women's lacrosse. The first ESPN3 stream is set for Robert Morris on March 25 and will be followed by all five Atlantic Sun home games on Titan Field. Detroit opens the A-Sun schedule at home against Central Michigan on March 30 and wraps up the season with Senior Day against Howard on May 1.
Up NextDetroit returns home for its next two contests following Friday's at Radford, hosting Robert Morris on Friday, March 25 at 1 p.m. from Titan Field. Detroit then welcomes first-year program Central Michigan to Detroit for a 4 p.m. contest on Wednesday, March 30.
