  • The Titans started the HL campaign with four-straight one-goal setbacks, two on the road and two at home.

Against Cleveland State
  • The Titans lead the all-time series, 9-3-2, but have split the last four meetings with the Vikings.
  • Detroit Mercy is 2-3-2 all-time on the road in the series and are 0-2-1 in its last three trips to Cleveland. The last win on the road was in the first round of the 2010 Horizon League Championship as the sixth-seeded Titans topped the third-seeded Vikings, 2-1 victory.

What A Difference A Goal Makes
  • The Titans have lost six games by one goal this season, including four Horizon League contest on the year.
  • The six one-goal losses are the most by Detroit Mercy since it had six in 2012.
  • The school record for nailbiting losses is 10 by the 2006 squad.

Redick On The Board
  • Junior Suzie Redick notched her first goal of the season against NKU.
  • It was the sixth career goal for Redick, who now has 13 points in her career.
  • Last season, she tallied three goals and an assist.

DeLuca Does It All
  • Offense, defense, set pieces, corners, there is nothing that senior Rachel DeLuca can't do on the field for the Titans.
  • Last season, she attempted nearly every corner and set piece for the team, and she is off to that same start with all 37 corners on the year.
  • The reigning Horizon League Defensive Player of the Year had three goals and four assists last year and is currently leading the offense with 13 points on a career-high five assists and four goals.
  • She is tied for sixth in the conference in assists and seventh in points. The defender also leads the team with 40 shots, fifth in the HL.

Marina's Our Keeper
  • Junior Marina Manzo - the reigning HL Goalkeeper of the Year - has been the main netminder all season tallying a Horizon League-best 69 saves with four shutouts on the year.
  • She also has seven games with five or more saves, including a season-high nine twice at Pittsburgh and at Northern Arizona. The nine saves are just four behind her career mark of 13 at Green Bay in 2014.
  • She currently leads the Horizon League in saves and saves per game (4.93), is fifth in save percentage (.784),  tied for third in shutouts and is sixth in goals against average (1.35).

The Manzo Watch
  • Junior Marina Manzo is now fourth in school history with 248 saves as she is trying to catch Nikki Thomas (1993-96) for third at 289.
  • Manzo is also second in goals against average (1.21), third in save percentage (.788), fourth with 16 shutouts, fifth in wins (23) and seventh in saves per game (4.45).

Drayton Back In The Scoring Column
  • Senior Phylisha Drayton - All-Horizon League Second team in 2016 - notched a goal and an assist against Eastern Michigan, ending a six-game stretch where she did not record a point.
  • Drayton now has two goals and a career-best three assists on the season and 11 goals with four helpers in her career for 26 points.

One Kid At A Time
  • Junior goalie Sarah Hirschmann has only appeared in one game this season and two in her career, but her work off the field have been impressive.
  • She dreamed of helping people in Africa so she volunteered as a teacher in Kenya for six weeks this past summer.
  • When she visited Haiti as a high school student and was inspired to do more, so she organized her own nonprofit organization "One Kid at a Time" and has been running it ever since. Hirschmann and her friend Gina Munson began selling One Kid at a Time t-shirts and co-founded the nonprofit organization.
  • Hirschmann didn't just stop there, she got her friends and others to donate shoes, clothing and soccer equipment. After that, Hirschmann wanted to do more but she wasn't quite sure how.
  • When she felt she was doing so much on her trips around the world, but not enough at home, she began organizing an after-school-program for a Detroit elementary school.

Still Together
  • The Titans will once again be in the steady hands of a veteran coaching staff as head coach Mike Lupenec - the only coach in program history - is back to lead the 25th varsity team.
  • He has guided the Titans to three conference championships in 1995, 1996 and 2004. The 2004 team also won a game in the NCAA Tournament defeating Michigan. Lupenec has been voted Horizon League Coach of the Year by his peers three times (2000, 2005, 2012).
  • His assistant coach Jamie Huff has been at his side for 16 seasons, while goaltending coach Mike Sheehy is in his seventh season. Graduate assistant Jennifer Borawski is in her first season and scored the goal for the Titans in the 1-1 draw in the 2015 contest.

In Michigan We Trust
  • Detroit Mercy likes the home-grown talent of the Great Lakes State as 26 of the 29 Titans hail from Michigan.
  • The three other Titans are from our neighbor to the North with two from Ontario and one from Quebec.

Doyle Rules
  • Freshman Kelli Doyle has seen her production increase throughout the season as she knocked in her third goal of the year against Eastern Michigan on Sept. 17.
  • She did not record a shot in her first two games and then missed the contest at Pittsburgh due to an injury, but she now has three goals in her last 10 games.

A Long Carroll
  • Junior Caitlin Carroll waited a long time before scoring her first collegiate goal against Lawrence Tech. She sat out last season after playing at Dayton in 2014 and Marquette in 2015.
  • With the Flyers, she played in 14 games with two starts for a team that won the Atlantic 10 championship. With the Golden Eagles, she saw action in five games and had one shot.
