The Titans are playing in their third San Juan Shootout and first since the 1997-98 season. Detroit Mercy has a 2-4 record all-time in the San Juan Shootout with wins coming over Michigan State and Southern Illinois.

Detroit Mercy's first San Juan Shootout was in Puerto Rico during the 1994-95 season, playing three games in three days. The Titans lost to Oklahoma State, before topping MSU and then falling to Southern Illinois. The Titans returned in 1997-98, defeating Southern Illinois in the first game. Detroit Mercy then fell to #15-Duke and dropped a contest against Providence.

Scouting Clemson
The Tigers are 3-1 on the season with victories coming over Kennesaw State, South Carolina State and Monmouth. Clemson's only loss of the season is to power South Carolina, 66-36. The Tigers are allowing 49.0 points per game. The team is shooting 32.9 percent from the floor and has sank just seven treys on the year.

Kobi Thornton is averaging team-leading totals of 11.0 points per game and 7.0 rebounds per contest. Danielle Edwards is also averaging in double figures at 10.8 ppg.
