DETROIT (5/17/2017) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse program recently wrapped up the 2017 season, its ninth season as a program and first under head coach
Laurie Merian. The Titans held a year-end team banquet prior to the end of the season and handed out several team awards.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Allison McDonough (Vero Beach, Fla.) was named the Team MVP following a season in which she started every game and played every single minute in net for the Titans. McDonough, who ranked in the top 10 in the NCAA nearly all season in saves and saves per game, led the ASUN Conference with 177 total saves and ranked second in saves per game (10.41). She was fifth in conference games with a 46.4 save percentage and posted 10 games of 10 or more saves, including turning away a career-best 16 shots at Jacksonville.
Senior defender
Danielle Kirby (Oregon City, Oregon) received the team's Coaches Award for the 2017 season. A three-year letter-winner for the Titans after transferring in prior to her sophomore season, Kirby played in 10 games, making three starts during her senior year. Kirby appeared in 29 contests for Detroit Mercy during her career and just recently walked during the Titan commencement, receiving her undergraduate degree from the University.
Junior defender and co-captain
Lauren Webley (Whitby, Ont.) earned the team's Most Dependable award. Webley ranked among the league leaders and led all Titan field players in ground balls (46) and caused turnovers (23) during the 2017 campaign. Her per game averages of 2.65 ground balls and 1.29 caused turnovers were both in the top 10 in the ASUN Conference and her 46 ground balls was fourth among field players in the league. Webley started in all 17 games and notched multiple ground balls in every single game but two during the year.
The Unsung Hero award went to senior midfielder

Pritchard went for career highs across the board during her final season, totaling 36 goals, eight assists, 44 points, 23 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers. She became the ninth player in school history to surpass 100 career points in Titan history.
