Titans Back On WADL, UD Jesuit Product Jeremy Otto To Serve As Men's MBB Voice

DETROIT (10/8/2018) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's and women's basketball teams will once again be back on local TV as the Titans and WADL have announced a 14-game television package for the 2018-19 season.

"This is the sixth year of an outstanding partnership between Detroit Mercy and WADL", said Director of Athletics Robert C. Vowels, Jr. "The partnership with WADL and 910 AM will allow us to continue to grow our brand in the city and I know all of Detroit will be tuned in to see the new direction of the Titan program."

The local TV deal includes nine men's games and five women's contests in 2018-19.

"I am proud to be carrying Titans' basketball on both WADL and 910 AM Superstation," said Kevin Adell, CEO and Owner of WADL. "This is yet another example of my commitment to the city of Detroit in the entities that are so important and emblematic of our city. Just as the city of Detroit is resurgent, so is the wonderful basketball program at the University of Detroit Mercy."

WADL can be seen on a number of cable outlets in the Detroit Metro area including Channel 38 on most televisions (AT&T, Xfinity, DirecTV and Dish Network). WADL is on channel 22 for WOW cable networks and channel 19 for those in the Bright House distribution.

Detroit Mercy also announced that Jeremy Otto will serve as the play-by-play announcer for the men's basketball games on WADL, ESPN3 and ESPN+, teaming with former Titan standout and NBA world champion Earl Cureton.

Otto – a graduate of UD Jesuit High School and Madonna University – is a rising star in local sports broadcasting and has called numerous sports for high school and colleges in the past nine years. He was the main voice for Marygrove and Madonna athletics while in college and has called games for the Michigan High School Athletic Association on the MHSAA Network, the IIHF Women's World Hockey Championships and the Catholic High School League Football Game of the Week on 101.5 FM and 1400 AM the Patriot (WDTK).

"I'm excited to have the opportunity to join the Titan broadcast team this season," said Otto. "Growing up throughout my young broadcast career, I had the chance to call numerous games at historic Calihan Hall, which makes this opportunity even more special. It has been fun to watch the excitement building around the new coaching staff and I'm eager to learn as much about the team in the next couple months as possible."

He most recently finished a broadcasting internship with the Detroit Tigers, where he assisted the Director of Broadcasting with the day-to-day operations within the department as well as with the Detroit Tigers Radio Network.

Veteran broadcaster Denny Kapp will be back for his ninth year as the Voice of the Titan Women on ESPN3 and ESPN+. Kapp has been the main voice for Titan women's basketball since all the Titan games started streaming on the Horizon League Network in 2006.
