DETROIT (2/7/2018) -- It will be a #MetroSeries rematch televised nationally on ESPN2 as the University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team visits Oakland on Friday at the O'rena in Rochester.
Game time is set for 9 p.m. with Jordan Bernfield and Brooke Weisbrod on the call for ESPN2, while fans can also listen to the game on 910 AM Superstation with the "Voice of the Titans"

Oakland won the first round of the local rivalry, 92-86, as Detroit Mercy staged a late rally that just fell short.
The Titans - who have been battling some injuries and illness – split a pair of home games last week defeating IUPUI and coming up short against UIC. Junior
Josh McFolley led the way averaging 22.0 points last week, including a career-high 30 against the Flames, while redshirt junior
Kameron Chatman netted 21 against the Jaguars and put together his eighth double-double of the year with 13 points and 10 rebounds versus UIC.

ALL-TIME MATCH-UP
- Detroit Mercy and Oakland will get together for the 22nd time despite the fact the two schools are located roughly 26 miles apart.
- Detroit Mercy leads the overall series, 13-8, as the Titans split the series with Oakland last year, winning on the road, 93-88.
- The Titans are 1-4 all-time at the O'rena.
CALIHAN HALL TURNS 65
- The 2017-18 season marks the 65th anniversary of historic Calihan Hall.
- The dedication of the University's Memorial Building, as it was known back then, took place May 25, 1952. The first basketball game was played Dec. 2 of that year when the U-D men beat Kalamazoo, 75-61.
- In 1977, the name was changed to Calihan Hall in honor of the Titans' first basketball All-American, the late Bob Calihan.
- On Dec. 5, 2011, the floor of Calihan Hall was dedicated to former coach Dick Vitale.

- The 11 Division I opponents on the Titan non-conference schedule are 169-93 (64.4%) already on the year and 10 of those 11 foes have winning records.
- The Titan non-conference schedule currently ranks 31st overall in the nation.
ONE STRONG CHATMAN
- Kameron Chatman - who missed three games with an injury before coming back at IUPUI - has been one of the most productive transfers in the NCAA.
- Chatman leads the team and is:
- * 5th in the HL in scoring at 17.5 ppg.
- * 3rd in the HL in rebounding at 8.8 rpg.
- * 3rd in the HL in 3-point shooting at 43.0%
- He started conference play with two-straight 20-point games netting 22 at Green Bay - along with 11 rebounds and a career-high five assists - and 20 at Milwaukee, while adding another double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds against Wright State and is coming off his eighth double-double of the year with 13 points and 10 caroms against UIC.
- His eight double-doubles are fourth in the conference.
CHATMAN ON TOP IN SCORING, REBOUNDING
- Redshirt junior Kameron Chatman posted his 10th, 20-point game of the season tallying a game-high 21 points along with eight rebounds, four assists and three steals against IUPUI.
- The 10, 20-point games are the most by a Titan since Paris Bass posted 13 in 2015-16 as well as fourth in the Horizon League.
- Chatman is also leading the team in rebounding at 8.8 per night and is trying to become just the sixth Titan since 1980 to lead the team in scoring and rebounding.
ANOTHER 30 POINT TITAN
- Junior Josh McFolley tallied a career-high 30 points his last time out against UIC.
- The 30-point game marked the sixth on the season for the Titans and he also became the fourth player to register 30 following Corey Allen (39 vs. Houston Baptist, 34 vs. Youngstown State, 32 vs. Western Michigan) Kameron Chatman (31 at Fort Wayne) and Jermaine Jackson Jr. (32 vs. Youngstown State).
MCFOLLEY FOR 3
- Junior Josh McFolley was in double figures for the second-straight game as he ended with a career-high 30 points against UIC, hitting four triples in the process.
- He now has six 3-pointers in his last two games and has connected from distance in 18 of his 25 games on the year. He also has five games with three or more triples.
- McFolley now has 10 career 20-point games along with 149 career 3-pointers, ninth in school history and just eight away from eighth place and Michael Jackson '95.
PICKING YOUR POCKET
- Junior Josh McFolley is coming off a career defensive performance tallying a career-best six steals against UIC, his fifth game on the year with at least three steals
- He is currently fourth in the Horizon League with 1.48 steals per game.
- In his career, he has recorded a steal in 64 of his 86 career games, including 27 multi-steal contests and 15 with at least three takeaways.
- McFolley led the conference in steals per game (2.00) and total steals (62), ranking 26th and 35th in the NCAA, respectively, last season.
- His 134 career steals is just eight shy of 10th place in school history, occupied by current assistant coach Jermaine Jackson '99 with 142.
HE CAN SCORE
- Sophomore Corey Allen - who has missed the last two games with an illness - has been in double figures in 16 of his 22 games with six 20+ contests and three 30+ games.
- He tied for the team lead with 24 points on 8-of-13 shooting with five treys against Oakland.
- He poured in a game-high 25 points going 9-of-14 from the field with eight rebounds and had the game-winning layup as time expired over Cleveland State. He followed that up with a game-high 34 points on 8-of-16 shooting with five 3-pointers and a career-best 13-of-16 at the line against Youngstown State.
JJJ FILLING UP THE STAT SHEET
- Rookie Jermaine Jackson Jr. - who hurt his ankle at NKU and has missed the last two games - posted stats all around as a true freshman on the road in his collegiate debut at Virginia Tech tallying 16 points with seven rebounds and three assists.
- He tallied his third 20-point game of the season with a game-high 22 points at IUPUI.
- Jackson Jr. had a monster game scoring a season-best 32 points against Youngstown State - one shy of a Titan freshman record - on 12-of-17 shooting with six 3-pointers.
- He is the only freshman in the Horizon League this season with a 30-point game.
- The rookie tallied a then season-high 25 points at Green Bay - where he was 8-of-14 from the field with a season-high seven 3-pointers and has now scored in double figures in 14 games on the year.
- Jackson Jr. is currently third on the team averaging 11.6 points to go with a team-best 2.9 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.1 steals.
- He also has 66 assists and just 45 turnovers for a 1.5 ratio, eighth in the HL.
- Jackson Jr. leads all league rookies in made 3-pointers and free throw percentage and is second in scoring and assists.
OUR ROYAL PRINCE
- Graduate senior Roschon Prince almost matched his season high finishing with 18 points against UIC.
- He was 7-of-11 against the Flames and that was after going 5-of-6 and ending with 14 points versus IUPUI.
- Prince has now been in double figures in scoring seven times in the last 12 games.
- He had 10 points and nine rebounds against Youngstown State and that was after a season-high 19 points and eight rebounds versus Cleveland State.
- He had 10 points against Wright State and almost recorded a double-double with nine points and 10 boards versus NKU.
- He posted his first Titan double-double - and the seventh of his career - with 11 points and 10 rebounds at Milwaukee.
- After averaging 5.1 points and 3.2 rebounds in his first 12 games, Prince is tallying 10.5 points and 5.7 rebounds, while shooting 60.0 percent from the field in conference play.
DRE DAY
- Senior DeShawndre Black stepped into the starting role against IUPUI and he was a big reason for the Titan win as he finished with 13 points, three assists and three rebounds.
- It was only his second double-digit scoring effort of the season behind the 14 versus Siena Heights and two away from his career high of 15 against Green Bay last year.
- He ran the point guard to precision against UIC his last time out tying a career-high with eight assists against just one turnover.
- In fact, in his last nine games, Black has 23 assists with just seven turnovers, better than a 3-to-1 ratio.
A LONG DAY
- Sophomore Cole Long is coming off a career weekend as he netted a career-high 12 points and seven assists along with five rebounds against IUPUI and then pulled down a career-best nine rebounds and tied his career mark with three blocks against UIC.
- Long now has 13 blocks in his last nine games and is tied for the team lead with 15 on the season.
- He made his first start of the season against ETSU and he made the most of it scoring 10 points and handing out four assists. He picked up five assists against Youngstown State and blocked three shots at NKU.
30X3
- Sophomore Corey Allen tallied his third 30-point game of the year - and fourth of his career - with a game-high 34 points against Youngstown State.
- He was 8-of-16 from the field, 5-of-9 from three and a career-best 13-of-16 at the free throw line, netting 22 in the second half.
- Allen poured in 32 against Western Michigan on Dec. 9 going 12-of-21 overall with five treys and scored 19 points in the second half.
- Earlier this season against Houston Baptist, he posted a game, career-high and Belmont Curb Event Center record with 39 shooting 12-of-20 from the field and 7-of-13 from long range to go with a career-tying five assists.
- The 39 points were the most since Jaleel Hogan had 39 in a win at Oakland last year and are the most by any player in the HL this season.
- His three 30-point games are tied for the second most in the conference and are the most by a Titan since Willie Green had five during the 2002-03 campaign.
MY 5
- The Titans have used 14 different starting line-ups so far on the season.
- Also, no Titan has started all 25 games, while only two have played in all 25 games in senior DeShawndre Black and junior Josh McFolley.
HIGH POWERED OFFENSE
- The Titans currently rank third in the Horizon League and 75th in the nation in scoring offense at 78.3 points per game.
- Detroit Mercy has scored at least 71 points in 17 games, including three 100+point efforts.
TAKING ADVANTAGE
- Detroit Mercy has done a great job at the free throw line connecting on 74.5 percent, third in the HL and 64th in the country.
- Detroit Mercy has hit 80.0 percent or more at the line in nine games, including some great performances in 16-of-20 versus IUPUI, 18-of-22 at Virginia Tech, 20-of-23 versus Seattle, 13-of-15 in the road win at Saint Louis and 17-of-20 against Western Michigan.
