STATESBORO, Ga. (3/7/18) -- The University of Detroit Mercy softball team dropped a back and forth game against Georgia Southern on Tuesday afternoon, completing its spring break trip to Georgia.
Kori Keyes had a career day at the plate garnering two hits, driving in two runs and scoring one herself.
Alyssa Lang also had a good day at the plate knocking a two-run double.

Georgia State would strike first, scoring two runs in the bottom of the second, giving the Eagles a 2-0 lead.
However, the red, white and blue would respond immediately to the 2-0 deficit.
Elizabeth Yager would reach on a throwing error, followed by a walk from
Jordan Manno. The runners would advance to second and third on a ground ball to the pitcher, leaving two runners in scoring position.
Savvy Ferstle would then walk, loading the bases for Keyes. She stepped in and continued her hot hitting, driving a single into left-center field and knocking in both runners, tying the game at 2-2.
Both runners would steal a base, leaving them on second and third, still with two outs.
Skylar Fairchild would draw a walk, bringing up Lang, and she would cork a double into right-center, driving in two runs and giving the Titans their first lead of the game, 4-2.
Georgia Southern would continue to chip away at the Titan lead, adding a run in the bottom of the fifth.Â
Kara Vitale would drill a home run over the left field fence in the top of the sixth, extending the Titans' lead back to two, 5-3.
However, the Eagles were relentless in the batter's box and added another two runs in the bottom of the sixth, tying the game at 5-5.
The Titans were unable to capitalize in the top of the seventh and in the bottom half of the inning, the Eagles would squeak out a win with a walk-off, two-run home run.Â
ON DECK
The Titans will take 10 days off before heading out to New York City for two days of games against Fordham, Seton Hall, UMass Lowell and Holy Cross.Â
