Anthony Occhiuto and
James Hill finished in the Top 20 to lead the University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team on the final day of the Crusader Collegiate Invite on Tuesday.
As a squad, the Titans finished eighth out of 13 teams with a total of 916 (303-310-303). Detroit Mercy finishes just behind Valparaiso, Creighton and Green Bay, while Bradley clinched the win with a total of 867 at the par-72, 6,972-yard Sand Creek Country Club in the Hoosier State.
Occhiuto led the squad with a 19th-place effort while playing as an individual after closing with a 75 on Tuesday. Occhiuto tallied a 224 for the tournament after opening with a two-under 70 and carding a 79 in round two. Occhiuto recorded 16 pars in Tuesday's round, with just two slip-ups on a bogey and a double.
Hill tied for 20th after firing a 76 on Tuesday, finishing the weekend with three strong rounds (75-74-76). Hill birdied the opening hole and after a rough patch on holes 2-8, went -1 on the next 10 holes to clinch a top 20.
Zack Tenerowicz and
Scott Sparks tied for 38th, followed by
Brendan O'Rourke in 46th and
Jonathan Brillati in 54th.
Tenerowicz fired a 75 on Tuesday, including an even back nine featuring three birdies. Sparks and O'Rourke both closed the tournament with a 76.
