DETROIT (10/16/2019) -- The University of Detroit Mercy Department of Athletics and the women's basketball program is set to host its fifth annual Field Trip Day game on Thursday, Dec. 5 when the Titans host old Horizon League opponent Valparaiso from Calihan Hall for an 11 a.m. tip. Doors open at 9 a.m. the day of the game and admission into the game for all fans is
FREE.
The Titans have hosted north of 3,000 fans in each of the past three Field Trip Days and last year had 21 schools in attendance from Calihan Hall. Detroit Mercy hosted its inaugural Field Trip Day during head coach
Bernard Scott's first season in 2015-16 and across the four seasons, have totaled nearly 12,000 kids and fans for the Field Trip Day game.
The game is also Detroit Public Schools (DPS) certified. Free bus parking and accommodations will be provided in the parking lot outside of Calihan Hall. A school band will play at halftime and an educational speaker will be part of the day prior to the game. Informational packets will be delivered following each school's RSVP outlining event details, seating location, campus map, parking instructions and student worksheets.
Interested schools and grades that would like to attend are being asked to RSVP by Tuesday, Nov. 26, a little more than a week prior to the game.

Parking
Free bus parking and accommodations will be provided just north of Calihan Hall outside of the main entrance as well as in other areas of campus. Schools and classes are being asked to arrive between 9:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., for the 11 a.m. game time. The arrival time can be earlier by request.
Logistics
Each school and classes will be designated to a certain area in the stands at Calihan Hall. Upon arrival, an usher will take each school or class to its seats. All schools and classes must be accompanied by a chaperone. There will be no tickets handed out, but each school or class will a labeled section to sit in. Please RSVP with how many students you plan on bringing to the game.

2016 -- 3,117 fans (largest since 2004-05)
