WESTLAKE, Ohio (10/8/2019) -- Sophomore
Anthony Occhiuto recorded his fourth career top-20 finish and the University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team ended play at Cleveland State's Tom Tontimonia Invitational on Monday.
Detroit Mercy posted a team score under 900 totaling an 898 (300-294-304) for ninth place at the Par 71, 7,022-yard Lakewood Country Club in Westlake, Ohio.
Occhiuto - who was coming off a win at NKU last week - tied for 13th with a 215 (67-75-73) as his final round included three birdies and 11 pars.
Senior
Scott Sparks shared 50th with a 227 (78-74-75), while junior
Bryce Douglas tied for 52nd place with a 228 (78-72-78).
The Titans will be back in action this weekend as they travel to Lewisburg, Pennslyvania, to compete in the Bucknell Invitational from Oct. 13-14.

- Occhiuto was tied for second in the field in par 3 scoring average (-1, 2.92) and was tied for seventh in par 5 scoring average (-4, 4.56)
- Sparks tapped in 35 pars and Douglas knocked in eight birdies
- Douglas tied his career low with his 1-over 72 in the second round as he also shot a 72 in the first round of the 2019 Big Blue Intercollegiate
