Men's Basketball

@DetroitMBB Heads To Wright State For Saturday Night Showdown

DETROIT (2/8/2019) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team will look for a split in the first part of its five-game road swing as the Titans travel to Wright State on Saturday.

Game time is set for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPN+ as well as on the radio dial on 910 AM Superstation with the Voice of the Titans Dan Hasty on the call.

Detroit Mercy comes into the game at 6-6 in the Horizon League, where there is a log jam in the middle of the standings. Wright State is 8-4 in the conference, just a game out of the top spot.

The Titans defeated the Raiders earlier this year, 79-58, as Antoine Davis nearly broke the school record scoring a Titan freshman record 48 points. Davis has continued his stellar freshman season as he now has 106, 3-pointers, second in school history and tied for seventh all-time among NCAA freshman as he is still chasing Stephen Curry's mark of 122.

A win would give the red, white and blue its first regular-season sweep over WSU since the 2010-11 campaign.

ALL-TIME SERIES
  • The Titans dropped five in a row to Wright State until Detroit Mercy beat the Raiders back in January.
  • The last time the Titans swept the regular-season series from the Raiders was in 2011-12
  • Wright State has still won 11 of the last 15 as the Raiders lead the all-time series, 31-27.
  • Detroit Mercy is 9-17 all-time against the Raiders on the road and has dropped its last five meetings at the Nutter Center.

AD GETTING BUCKETS
  • Antoine Davis topped the team with 26 points at NKU and has led the team in scoring 22 times, while sharing the team high with 29 alongside Josh McFolley against Green Bay, giving him a lead or share of the top effort in all 23 games he has played.
  • He now has 17, 20-point games, eight 30+ performances and a pair of 40-point efforts in his first 21 collegiate games, the only freshman in school history with two 40-point outings.
  • He is one of just four freshmen in Division I to score in double figures in every game they have played on the year (RJ Barrett & Zion Williamson-Duke, Lamine Diane-Cal State Northridge)
  • To start the year, he posted eight-straight 20-point games, the first Titan to have eight-straight games with 20 or more since Willie Green's 10 in a row in 2002-03.
  • His eight 30-point games on the season are the most since Archie Tullos had 10 in 1987-88.
