SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (3/19/2019) -- Freshmen
Anthony Occhiuto and
Brendan O'Rourke were the low Titans as the University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team ended the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate on Tuesday.
The Titans finished tied for 13th with a 903 (298-303-302) at the Par-72, 6,913 yards Sevierville Golf Club's Rivers Course in Sevierville, Tennessee.
Occhiuto shared 38th totaling a 223 (75-73-75), ending the event with a 3-over 75 and three more birdies. He started the day with back-to-back birdies and was then even on the front nine in the event.Â
O'Rourke tallied a 226 (75-76-75) and tied for 52nd. His final round saw him knock in 15 pars, including 11-straight at one point.Â
Juniors
Scott Sparks and
Zack Tenerowicz shared 55th with a 227 and freshman
James Hill was 80th with a 238.Â
Detroit Mercy will be back in action in two weeks when the Titans head to Indianapolis to play in the Butler Spring Invitational from April 1-2.

- Occhiuto recorded the only eagle for the Titans knocking in his second shot on the par 4, 16th hole in round two
- Occhiuto led the team with nine birdies, while Tenerowicz and Hill had six apiece
