BOULDER CITY, Nev. (3/9/2019) -- Freshman
Anthony Occhiuto led the way for the Titans as the University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team wrapped up play at the Jackrabbit Invitational on Saturday.
The event was played at the Par 72, 7,402-yard Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.
Occhiuto led the team with a 235 (80-80-75) as he shared 63rd place. Occhiuto ended the event with the best round of the tournament for the Titans with a 3-over 75, knocking in four birdies and seven pars.
Freshman
Brendan O'Rourke tied for 76th with a 241 (80-84-77) as he posted his best round of the tournament with a 5-over 77, registering three birdies and nine pars.
As a team, the red, white and blue posted a 966 for 14th.
Detroit Mercy will be back in action next weekend as they travel to Tennessee to take part in the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate from March 17-19.

- Occhiuto and Hill led the team with seven birdies apiece
- Tenerowicz topped the team with 30 pars
- Tenerowicz led the team and was tied for seventh overall on the course's par 3's with a +1, 3.08 average
- Occhiuto recorded an even-par, 5.00 average on the par 5's
- Tenerowicz took eight strokes off his first-round score as he knocked in three birdies and 11 pars, including a stretch of 10 holes where he was 1-under
- Hill had the best 18 for the Titans on day one with his opening-round 79, closing the back nine at 1-under with three birdies and four pars
