INDIANAPOLIS (4/2/2019) -- Three Titans placed in the top 50 as the University of Detroit Mercy men's golf team concluded the Butler Spring Invitational on Tuesday.
Detroit Mercy claimed eighth with a 613 (310-303) at the Par 70, 6,551-yard Highland Golf Club in Indianapolis.
Junior
Scott Sparks was the top Titan tying for 30th with a 148 (73-75). His 75 on the final 18 included 13 pars.Â
Junior
Zack Tenerowicz tied for 38th with a 149 (77-72) as he had the best round in the event for the red, white and blue with a 2-over 72 in the final round, tallying 12 pars and a pair of birdies.Â
Playing as an individual, sophomore
Bryce Douglas took a share of 42nd totaling a 151 (77-74), including a career-low 4-over 74 on the day. His career-best round saw him knock in 12 pars with a birdie.Â
Sophomore
Jonathan Brillati was just outside the top 50 as his 157 (80-77) tied him for 51st as he collected three more birdies.Â
Detroit Mercy will have one more tournament to get ready before the Horizon League Championship as the Titans head back to Tennessee to compete in the Tennessee State's Big Blue Invite, Apr. 8-9.Â
