DETROIT (4/26/2019) -- For the second-straight season, the University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse team plays Central Michigan in its regular-season finale with the Titans (3-1 SoCon) traveling to Mount Pleasant for a game with the Chippewas (2-2 SoCon) at noon on Saturday. With a victory over CMU, the Titans would earn at least a share of their second-straight SoCon regular-season title.
The game may be seen live via Chippewas All-Access and live stats for the 12 p.m. game will also be available from CMU Soccer/Lacrosse Complex. Admission is free.
Detroit Mercy (7-9 overall) is 3-0 all-time against Central Michigan, earning the victory 17-9 last season on Senior Day to pick up a share of the regular-season crown. The Titans, Mercer and Furman are all tied at 3-1 in the SoCon standings entering Saturday's contests. The Titans are also playing for postseason seeding and can be seeded anywhere from 1-4 in the tournament.

• The Titans have captured eight SoCon Player of the Week accolades so far in 2019 -- five offensive and three defensive. Senior attacker

• Senior
Lexie Kinmond has a team-high and Southern Conference-best 71 points (38 goals, 33 assists), notching at least three points in 12 of 16 games this season and season-highs with nine points against Kent State and Delaware State. She broke the career points record (274) topping former Titan standout Emily Boissonneault (272 points). Kinmond already holds the school records in assists (123), becoming the first player in school history to surpass 100 in her career.
• Wandelt became the all-time leader in draw controls in Titan history in the season opener at Ohio State, recording six to surpass former Titan standout Anna Eidem. Wandelt has a team-high and school-record 108 DC in 16 games (6.75 per game), including six games of nine or more draw controls. She set a new single-game school record with 12 draw controls at Delaware State and holds all of the draw control records in Detroit Mercy history.
• Senior GK
Allison McDonough became the second player in school history with 600 career saves after stopping 11 balls against Coastal Carolina. She has 612 career saves, which is second all-time. She has started all 71 games in her Titan career and ranks No. 1 in school history with 207 ground balls. McDonough leads the team with 55 ground balls and 3.44 ground balls per game (fifth in the NCAA).
• Sophomore attacker
Kamryn Corraro has two goals or more in 10 games and recorded a career-high six points (four goals, two assists) against Wofford. She has career-highs in both goals (30) and points (37) and was named the SoCon Offensive Player of the Week on April 16 after leading the Titans with nine goals and 11 points in a 2-0 week.
• Freshman
Elise Harder began her Titan career scoring in her first six contests, including scoring on her first collegiate shot in the opener at Ohio State on Feb. 10; Harder ranks second on the team with 35 draw controls and fifth on the squad in goals (27) and points (28). She has five hat tricks and eight multiple-goal games.
• Wandelt is the Titan leader in draw controls (108) and caused turnovers (25) on the season, ranking second on the squad with 54 points and second with 47 GB. She leads the SoCon in draw controls, ranking in the top-15 in the NCAA in draw controls per game (6.75) and has twice set a new single-game draw control record this season with 11 DC at Delaware State and then 12 DC at home against Wofford.
• Three current Titans have surpassed 100 career goals -- Wandelt (177 goals), Kinmond (151) and Girardi (148). All three are in the top-five in school history in goals. Kinmond became the third player in school history to surpass 200 career points and is the school record holder in career assists (123). Wandelt was the fourth player to surpass 200 career points earlier this season.
• Kinmond was named the SoCon Offensive Athlete of the Month for February after leading the conference in points (15) during the month. She also became the first Titan in school history to surpass 100 career assists at Duquesne. She is a two-time SoCon Offensive Player of the Week this season.
• Detroit Mercy is in its 11th season as a program; The Titans earned a share of the Southern Conference regular-season title last season, going 4-1 in league play.
• The Titans have more than 10 victories in three of the past four seasons; The Titans went 10-8 last year and had a school-record 12 triumphs in 2016.
• Head coach and former Titan player
Megan Callahan '13 is in her first year at the helm of the team; She played for the squad from 2010-13 and was the assistant coach in each of the past two seasons.
• Callahan earned her first victory as a head coach on Feb. 19 in a 17-13 victory over Butler in the Titans' home opener.
Scouting Central Michigan
The Chippewas are 2-2 in Southern Conference play and 7-9 overall this season entering their Senior Day and home finale. Central Michigan won SoCon games over Delaware State and Wofford and dropped conference contests to both Mercer (19-12) and Furman (8-6). CMU is coming off a 21-5 victory over Kent State at home and are concluding a stretch of five-straight games in Mount Pleasant.
Junior attacker Natalie Karlen leads the team with 53 points on 39 goals and 14 assists for CMU. Senior midfielder Jocelyne Lemay has a team-high 42 goals as well as a team-best 58 draw controls. Junior attacker Jessica Schuchardt has 49 points and a team-high 25 assists. Six players on the team have more than 20 goals on the season. Senior goalkeeper Dominique Hamman (12.61 GAA, 44.6 SV%) and junior GK Hope Murray (11.39 GAA, 52.8 SV%) have split time in net this season, with each starting at least six games and playing more than 435 minutes this season.
All-Time Series
Detroit Mercy is 3-0 all-time against Central Michigan, with all three meetings coming in the past three seasons. The Titans won 17-9 last season over the Chippewas at home and the previous year in the only meeting in Mount Pleasant, the red, white and blue won 17-12 in the final game of the season. The first meeting between the two programs was in 2016 in Detroit, with Detroit Mercy picking up a 13-8 triumph at home.
Milestone Watch
• Senior attacker
Lexie Kinmond has 274 points (151 goals, 123 assists) and became the career leader in points in Titan history in the Senior Day win over Wofford, surpassing former Titan standout Emily Boissonneault (272 career points). Kinmond became the first Titan in school history to reach 100 career assists, tallying four helpers against Duquesne on March 3 and was the third player in school history to top 200 career points in the SoCon semifinals last season. Kinmond ranks second in points per game in school history (3.97) and first all-time in assists per game (1.78). Kinmond, with 71 points on the season, is also just 12 points off the single-season mark in points (83), which is currently held by Boissonneault, Eidem and Wandelt. With her 33 assists, she is six helpers behind the single-season record of 39, which she set last season.
• Junior midfielder
Kaitlyn Wandelt ranks fourth all-time in career points (226) and became the fourth player in school history with 200 career points at Mercer on March 29. Wandelt has 177 goals and 49 assists in 60 career games and ranks third all-time in school history in points per game (3.77), ranking only behind former Titan standout Emily Boissonneault (4.06 ppg) and Kinmond (3.97). Her 177 goals is third all-time in school history. Wandelt already owns the career draw controls record in school history and has 265 DC in her career, becoming the first player in program history to surpass 200 career draw controls. She set new single-game and single-season draw control records at Delaware State (11 DC) and then broke the record again against Wofford (12). She also became the first player in program history to surpass 100 draw controls (108) in a single-season.
• Senior goalkeeper
Allison McDonough became the second player in program history with 600 career saves after turning away 11 shots against Coastal Carolina on April 20. She is second all-time in school history with her 612 career stops and broke the Titan career record in ground balls (199) in the Senior Day win over Wofford. She surpassed 200 career GB against Coastal Carolina in the next game and holds the school mark with 207 career GB. McDonough is first in ground balls per game (2.91) in school history. She has started all 71 games in her career and is also No. 1 in school history in goalkeeper wins (35).
• Senior midfielder
Morgan Girardi ranks fifth all-time in goals (148) and points (184) in Detroit Mercy history and is the 12th player in school history to surpass 100 career ground balls (107). Girardi is also seventh in school history in caused turnovers (61), ranking second on the team with 18 in the 2019 season. Girardi ranks No. 2 all-time in free-position goals in Titan history with 48 goals, just four off tying the career mark, held by Boissonneault (52 FPG).

Detroit Mercy heads to the 2019 Southern Conference Championship, which is held this season at Furman University from May 2-4. The Titans have already earned a spot in the SoCon semifinals on Thursday, May 2 at either 5:00 or 7:30 p.m. from Paladin Stadium. Detroit Mercy is awaiting to find out what seed they'll have for the conference tournament and could be anywhere from the top seed through the fourth seed depending on this weekend's outcomes.
