LOUISVILLE, KY. (5/16/19) -- University of Detroit Mercy senior hurler
Ashley Mauser was tabbed NFCA All-Region, the league office announced Thursday afternoon.
392 student-athletes from 163 programs received 2019 NFCA Division I All-Region accolades, with Mauser being the sole representative from Detroit Mercy.
Mauser had one of the greatest pitching seasons in school history this year, logging numerous school records in the process.
She is the school's all-time leader in strikeouts in a game, season and career and was recently tabbed Horizon League Pitcher of the Year, the first Titan to ever claim the accolade.
Her 18 wins this season are the most since Peggy Hammerschmidt collected 20 in 1992, the last time the Titans ended the season with a winning record, which they will also do this year.
The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's 10 regions with first, second and third-team selections. NFCA member coaches from each respective region voted on the teams, and all the honorees now become eligible for the 2019 NFCA Division I All-America squads.
Mauser was named to the Third Team All-Region, adding to her already impressive resume, making her the first Titan to receive All-Region honors in softball since Kaleigh Rafter in 2008.
