DETROIT (5/24/2019) -- Former University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball standout Thomas Kennedy had another incredible year overseas as he was named MVP of the Japanese B2 League.

He led the B. League second division in scoring at 27.9 points per game to go with 7.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.5 steals, which was seventh in the league. He was also second in the league in free-throw shooting  (87.1%) and drained 153 triples on the year as he helped the Gunma Crane Thunders to a 43-17 record and a trip to the finals. 

He recently announced that he has signed to play with the Hiroshima Dragonflies next season. 

On the mainland, former Horizon League Player of the Year Willie Green will look to win his third-straight NBA championship as he is an assistant coach for player development with the Golden State Warriors, who won the Western Conference. He joined the staff in the summer of 2016 and has been part of the championship Warriors' staff the last two seasons. 

Other Titans flourishing playing professionally include:

Paris Bass (Domingo Paulino Santiago in  Dominican Republic Santiago League) averaged 28.5 points and 15.0 rebounds for his team that was fifth in the league. He posted 36 points and 12 rebounds in the final game of the first round and his team has a break in round two. 

Evan Bruinsma (Falco-Vulcano in Hungary) is averaging 13.6 ppg, 6.9rpg, 2.3 apg and 1.4 spg. for his squad that is 24-10 on the season and in second place. 

Kameron Chatman (Erie Bay Hawks in NBA G League) started his year playing in Turkey before he was acquired by the Erie Bay Hawks in NBA G League, where he averaged 7.3 ppg., 5.5 rpg. and 1.1 apg. in 22 games. 

Eli Holman (Anhui Wenyi in China) ia tallying 25.5 points and 12.5 rebounds along with 3.5 assists in two games since signing with Anhui Wenyi in the National Basketball League. He also played this year with Capitanes de Arecibo in the Puerto Rican Basketball League and averaged 19.7 points and 8.7 rebounds, helping the team win a playoff series for the first time in program history. 

Juwan Howard Jr. (Windsor Express in NBL Canada) recorded 16.2 points and 7.0 rebounds playing the final five games for the Canadian professional team. 

Chris Jenkins (UU-Korihait Uusikaupunki in Finland) is tallying 14.0 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 2.7 apg and 1.5 spg. in his first season in the Finnish Korisliiga. He had 15 points, four rebounds and four assists recently against the fifth-ranked KTP-Basket program. 

Jermaine Lippert (Muenchen OSB in Germany) is posting 15.4 ppg, 6.6 rpg and 1.4 apg in the German Basketball League. 

Ray McCallum (Cafes Candelas Breogan Lugo in Spain) who is averaging 15.5 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 4.5apg and 1.1spg since heading back overseas after playing in the NBA G League for the Los Angeles Clippers. 

Nick Minnerath (Leones de Ponce in Puerto Rico) tallied 21.9 ppg and 5.9rpg this season as he helped his team to a fifth-place finish in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional league. In one of his final games of the season against Capitanes, he posted 30 points and 10 boards. 

Chase Simon (Anwil Wloclawek in Poland) is averaging 13.5 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 2.1 apg and 1.2 spg. as his team is 22-8 on the year and in fourth place in the Polish Basketball Association. He was recently the MVP of the game against rival BM Slam Stal recording 23 points and five rebounds. 

Anton Wilson (Pully in Switzerland) is averaging 14.1 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 1.8 apg and 1.2spg in the Swiss Basketball League.
