GREENWOOD, Ind. (6/19/2019) -- The University of Detroit Mercy Department of Athletics was recognized nationally in the College Sports Information Director's of America (CoSIDA) Publications & Design Contest, claiming two honors among Division I programs from across the country for poster design and infographics during the 2018-19 school year.
It's the second-straight year the Titans have been honored in the contest.
James Tinkey, an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications & Graphic Design, received two, third-place awards for his design work in the CoSIDA national contest. Tinkey earned a third place laurel for his men's soccer poster in the "Fall Posters -- University" category as well as a third place in the "Infographic Athlete -- University" category for his design work on an
Antoine Davis Horizon League Freshman of the Year graphic.
It's the second and third honors for the Titans and Tinkey in the past two years after Detroit Mercy earned the No. 1 spot in the "Winter/Spring Posters -- University Division" with its
Detroit Mercy fencing poster during the 2017-18 school year. Detroit Mercy was one of 20 Division I schools from around the nation to earn more than one honor in the CoSIDA Publications & Design Contest and the only Horizon League school to receive an award.
