Horizon League Announces Brackets for 2020 Basketball Championships

INDIANAPOLIS (7/11/2019) -- The Horizon League has officially revealed the brackets for the 2020 Horizon League Men's & Women's Basketball Championships, which are slated for March 3-10. The final four teams in each championship are competing to #ReachTheHorizon and advance to Indianapolis on March 9-10 at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum, held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center.

The men's and women's brackets, as approved by the Horizon League Council, will return to a double-bye format, with the top-two teams in the regular season earning a bye to the semifinals and an automatic spot in Indianapolis. The first round matchups feature the teams placing third through 10th in the regular-season standings competing at campus sites at the highest-available seeds on Tuesday, March 3, with four games being played in each championship.

The first-round winners will meet in the Horizon League quarterfinals, which will be re-seeded and played on Thursday, March 5 at campus sites. The highest remaining seed will face the lowest remaining seed, while the other two opening-round winners will face off to earn a spot in the semifinals in Indianapolis. Second-round matchups will also be held in campus at the highest-remaining seeds.

The semifinals will re-seed as well with the No. 1 seed facing the lowest remaining seed and the No. 2 team playing the highest remaining seed following the quarterfinals. Every game of both championships is set to be carried live on the ESPN family of networks with both championships being aired on Tuesday, March 10. The women's basketball championship game is set for 12 p.m. ET on March 10 and will be shown live on ESPNU, while the men's championship contest is at 7 p.m. ET March 10 and will be on ESPN or ESPN2.

Tickets for both the semifinals and championship contests start at just $10 and will go on-sale on July 18 at 10 a.m. ET. Fans that purchased a ticket prior to Sept. 30 will receive $5 off.
