DETROIT (8/24/2019) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's soccer team will continue its homestand to start the season as the Titans face the Eastern Michigan Eagles on Sunday.
Game time is set for 1 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
The Titans began the season with a 2-2 draw against Northwood, a game that they trailed 2-0 at the half before completely outplaying the Timberwolves in the second in the near come-from-behind victory.
On The Pitch
- The Titans are 9-8-4 all-time against Eastern Michigan and have won three of the last four and five of the last seven
- Detroit Mercy is 6-2-3 at home against EMU, including 4-0-3 in the last seven meetings at Titan Field. In fact, the last time the Eagles beat the Titans at home was in 2001
- Sophomore Julie Ann Piechocki scored her first collegiate goal in last season's 2-1 setback at EMU
- Eastern Michigan started the year with a 2-2 at home against Oakland
- Both of Detroit Mercy's goal in the season opener were by defenseman in junior Olivia Parra (second career goal) and sophomore Hailey Wentzloff in her first career game as a Titan.
- The Titans had 21 shots in the season opener, the most since posting 28 against Lawrence Tech in a 5-0 win in 2017
